They help turn evidence into better decisions and practical outcomes.For this project, we are looking for a Cognitive Psychologist who can bring both scientific rigour and multidisciplinary thinking.Project OverviewProvide specialist expertise for a project investigating whether changes in indoor environmental conditions can have a measurable effect on cognitive function and performance. The Cognitive Psychologist will help design the human-performance element of the study and ensure that any cognitive effects are assessed using scientifically robust and validated methods.Key contributionDesign the cognitive assessment methodology for the study. Identify appropriate validated tests for measuring areas such as attention, concentration, memory, processing speed and executive function. Establish suitable baseline and comparative testing protocols. Advise on study duration, testing frequency and participant requirements. Identify and control for factors such as fatigue, learning effects, time of day and other variables that could influence cognitive results. Support interpretation of cognitive results alongside the environmental and indoor air quality data. Assess whether observed differences are meaningful and scientifically supported. Review the methodology, results and conclusions relating to cognitive performance. Ideal backgroundAn academic, researcher or experienced practitioner with a background in cognitive psychology or experimental psychology, ideally with experience designing and conducting studies using validated cognitive assessment methods. Experience researching the relationship between environmental conditions, indoor environments, air quality and human cognition or performance would be particularly valuable.Contract Type:Freelance/Project-BasedCompetitive compensation based on project scopeProject-based role with on-site involvement as required.
