Apply & track with Apply EdgeAbout Ivory: Ivory uses neuroscience-backed assessment to detect early cognitive decline and offers personalized solutions to reduce cognitive risks for future. There’s more about us on: https://www.liveivory.com/.The Founders and Clinical Team bring together 70+ years of combined experience with institutions and brands such as Manipal Hospital, Tata Institute of Fundamental Research, HealthifyMe, Infra.Market and Discovery. We're looking for a Cognitive Science Researcher with a foundation in cognitive science, experimental psychology or neuropsychology along with strong quantitative analysis skills to help us build and validate digital cognitive assessments. You should be comfortable thinking about how a cognitive construct can be measured, designing or evaluating tasks, and analysing participant-level and trial-level data to develop meaningful cognitive measures and scoring models. If you've worked on cognitive experiments, behavioural research, digital assessments or psychometrics and enjoy turning research questions into measurable outcomes, we'd like to hear from you.
The role sits at the intersection of cognitive task design, experimental research, psychometrics and quantitative data analysis. As a Researcher you will work on the development of digital measures of cognitive function, from defining the cognitive construct we want to measure to designing tasks, analysing behavioural data and establishing the scientific validity of the resulting measures. You will work closely with our clinical, product and technology teams to translate cognitive science into practical digital assessments that can be used at scale. The role requires both scientific rigour and the ability to work with real-world behavioural datasets, where the challenge is to both design novel tasks that meaningfully probe cognition and to determine whether a measure is reliable and interpretable for the intended use. This is a hands-on research role suited to someone who enjoys moving between cognitive theory, experimental design, quantitative analysis and applied research.Minimum Academic Qualification:Master's or PhD in Cognitive Science, Cognitive Neuroscience, Psychology, Experimental Psychology, Neuropsychology, or a closely related field.Candidates from other disciplines may be considered if they have substantial research experience in cognition, behavioural science or experimental psychology.Required Experience:0–3 years of relevant research experience, including Master's/PhD research.Demonstrated experience in designing, conducting or analysing cognitive or behavioural experiments.Strong research/thesis experience will be considered in lieu of industry experience for early-career candidates.Must-Have Skills:Cognitive Science & Task DevelopmentStrong understanding of cognitive domains including attention, memory, executive function, processing speed, working memory and cognitive flexibility.Understanding of experimental cognitive paradigms and how cognitive constructs are operationalised and measured.Data Analysis & Statistical ModellingProficiency in Python or R for data analysis.Ability to independently clean, structure, analyse and visualise behavioural datasets.Experience working with participant-level and/or trial-level data, including reaction time, accuracy, errors and response variability.Experience with correlation analysis and linear/multiple linear regression.Basic understanding of logistic regression and classification.Psychometrics & ValidationUnderstanding of reliability and validity in cognitive assessment.Familiarity with test-retest reliability and internal consistency where appropriate.Understanding of sensitivity, specificity, ROC/AUC and threshold selection. Our ideal candidate: We are looking for someone who can work across the research cycle: Cognitive construct → Task design → Data collection → Data analysis → Scoring → Validation We recognise that knowledge across the complete lifecycle may not be equal and will consider candidates with high proficiency in one domain but candidates with knowhow in both cognitive task design and data analysis are preferred. The ideal candidate is curious about how cognitive processes can be measured reliably and translated into practical digital assessments, and is comfortable moving between scientific literature, experimental design and data. Experience with experimental platforms such as PsychoPy, PsychoJS, jsPsych, or Psychtoolbox is a nice-to-have and candidates with publications, conference presentations or a strong research thesis in a relevant area will have an edge. What to Share With UsPlease submit:CVMaster's/PhD thesis or a brief description of your most relevant research projectOne example of a cognitive/behavioural task or experiment you have designed, implemented or analysedThe data-analysis tools and statistical methods you have usedPublications, GitHub or other relevant work, if availableIf you've got this far, an easier way to stand out is to write into us directly. Email our Chief Scientific Officer, sumiti@liveivory.com and our Co-Founder issac@liveivory.com with the above details and you'll hear back from one of us in 48 hours.
