Commercial Analyst Location: East Midlands (Hybrid Working)Salary: up to £50,000 + bonusOur client, a well-established and highly successful consumer goods business, is seeking an analytically minded Commercial Analyst to join their commercial team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in driving data-led decision making across major retail channels, helping to influence growth, profitability, and strategic direction.Working closely with Commercial, Finance, Demand Planning, and Supply Chain teams, you will deliver meaningful insights, accurate forecasting, and performance analysis that support business objectives and customer success.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and maintain customer and channel performance reports, dashboards, and KPI scorecards.Support sales forecasting and planning activities, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure accuracy and alignment.Analyse customer, product, and category performance to identify trends, opportunities, and potential risks.Produce weekly, monthly, and quarterly reporting to support commercial decision making.Evaluate promotional activity, measuring sales uplift, profitability, and return on investment (ROI).Monitor trade investment and customer spend against budget targets.Deliver pricing, margin, and profitability analysis to support commercial strategy.Generate customer, category, and market insights using both internal and external data sources.Support customer reviews, business presentations, and annual planning processes.Drive continuous improvement across reporting frameworks, analytical tools, and business processes.About YouTo be successful in this role, you will bring:Experience within an FMCG, retail, or consumer goods environment.Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate complex data into clear commercial recommendations.Advanced Excel and Power BI capabilities.Experience in forecasting, budgeting, and performance reporting.A sound understanding of commercial P&L drivers, pricing, and customer profitability.Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.A degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.
