Overview of the PositionThe Commercial Finance Manager will act as the financial co-pilot of the business, partnering closely with Sales, Customer Marketing and Leadership teams to ensure every commercial decision drives profitable and sustainable growth. This is a highly strategic and business-facing role. You will be responsible for driving Trade Investment Governance, Revenue Growth Management (RGM), pricing excellence, customer profitability and commercial decision support. You will help transform data into insights, challenge assumptions, influence commercial decisions, and ensure our investments generate maximum value. The role sits at the intersection of Finance, Sales, Customer Marketing and Strategy, making it one of the most impactful functions within the organization.Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic Business Partnering· Partner with commercial teams to design commercial deals that maximise revenue, profitability and return on investment.· Challenge and influence commercial decisions through a fact-based and value-creation mindset.· Support contract negotiations and commercial business planning.· Drive a culture of financial accountability and value creation across the organisation.Revenue Growth Management · Support development of pricing architecture and channel investment strategies, based on market dynamics, competitive positioning and profitability analysis.· Drive value creation through pricing, mix, promotion effectiveness, trade terms, investments choices and channel strategies.· Conduct scenario modelling to evaluate opportunities to improve revenue, margin and market share.· Support the evaluation of growth initiatives, ensuring clear business cases, financial rigor, and post-implementation reviews. · Monitor key commercial and financial KPIs linked to Revenue Growth initiatives, highlighting risks and opportunities. Pricing Strategy · Lead, develop and implement comprehensive pricing strategies in alignment with company’s overall goals. · Collaborate with all channels to ensure strategic alignment. · Optimize trade terms across customers and channels and build a dashboard for analysis. · Analyse the effectiveness of key promotions, trade deals and trade marketing activations, deriving valuable insights and recommendations for future activities. Commercial Investment Governance· Manage and oversee commercial investment governance processes, from investment proposal to validation of incentive payments.· Lead Commercial Investment Committee meetings, facilitating impactful discussions with Commercial teams to ensure investments are maximized.· Review promotional proposals, rebates, visibility agreements, listing investments and contractual commitments.· Ensure investments are aligned with strategic priorities and deliver targeted returns.· Establish clear guidelines and governance frameworks for trade investments.Customer & Channel Profitability· Develop and maintain channel, customer and portfolio profitability analysis with fact based insights.· Lead the communication of customer and channel profitability performance to management, highlighting key risks, value leakages, underperforming investments and structural profitability issues requiring corrective actions.· Assess account-level profitability and identify improvement opportunities.· Deliver actionable recommendations to improve net sales, margins and resource allocation.Commercial Planning & Performance Management· Support annual business planning, budget and commercial strategy development.· Monitor performance against targets and identify risks and opportunities.· Conduct promotion and activation post-mortems, leading post-investment evaluations and ROI analysis.· Track investment performance versus approved assumptions and business cases.· Ensure lessons learned are systematically embedded into future plans. Digital Transformation & AI· Champion the use of automation and AI within Commercial Finance.· Identify opportunities to streamline processes and improve productivity.· Leverage AI and digital tools to accelerate contract analysis, investment evaluation and business insights generation.· Contribute to development of Commercial Finance analytical capabilities and best practices. Education· University degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Marketing or a related field.Experience· 5 - 7+ years of experience in data-driven Commercial Finance, strategic revenue management roles, with strong business partnering exposure· FMCG, beverages, consumer goods experience beneficial· Proven experience partnering directly with Sales teams· Proven experience in pricing, trade investment management, customer profitabilty · Experience managing complex stakeholder environments.Knowledge & Technical Skills· Strong financial modelling and business case development capability· Experience with planning and analytics tools such as Anaplan, Power BI or similar platforms· Strong understanding of pricing, promotions, mix management, trade investments, customer contracts, profitability analysis, ROI principles· Promotional effectiveness methodology· Strong financial and analytical capabilities, with the ability to interpret and challenge data.· Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint; Power BI or similar tools are a plus.Personal & Interpersonal Skills· Structured and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously.· Strong influencing and stakeholder management skills· Strong communicator, comfortable presenting to and influencing senior stakeholders.· Collaborative mindset with the ability to align diverse teams around common objectives.· Proactive, resilient, and comfortable operating in a complex, evolving environment.· Able to translate complex data into simple business decisions.· Creative thinker and solution provider – ‘can do’
