Commercial Manager

About the RoleWe are seeking an experienced Commercial Manager to join a growing organisation operating within the insurance and risk advisory sector. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing complex insurance placements, developing strong relationships with insurers and reinsurers, and delivering effective risk transfer solutions for corporate clients.This position requires a commercially focused insurance professional with strong technical expertise in policy structuring, risk assessment, underwriting principles, and market negotiations. The role will work closely with clients, insurers, and reinsurers to secure competitive coverage, pricing, and capacity for a diverse portfolio of commercial and corporate risks.Key ResponsibilitiesManage the placement of commercial and corporate insurance risks across a broad range of industries.Develop and maintain strong working relationships with insurers, reinsurers, underwriters, and key market stakeholders within the UAE.Review client risk profiles, loss histories, survey reports, and risk engineering recommendations to support placement strategies.Structure and negotiate insurance programmes tailored to client requirements and risk exposures.Review and negotiate policy wordings, endorsements, exclusions, terms, and conditions.Support facultative and treaty reinsurance placements where required.Negotiate competitive pricing, coverage enhancements, and policy conditions with insurers and reinsurers.Secure market capacity for complex, high-value, or challenging risks.Provide technical guidance and market insight to support client retention and business growth.Monitor market trends, insurer appetite, regulatory developments, and emerging risks impacting the insurance sector.Build and maintain a strong professional network within the UAE insurance market.RequirementsBachelor's Degree in Insurance, Risk Management, Business Administration, Finance, or a related discipline.Minimum 8 years of relevant experience within insurance brokerage, underwriting, risk advisory, or a similar insurance environment.Strong understanding of UAE insurance market practices and regulatory requirements.Proven experience handling commercial and corporate insurance risks.Sound knowledge of:Policy wordings and coverage structuresRisk assessment and underwriting principlesInsurance pricing methodologiesFacultative and treaty reinsurance conceptsRisk placement and insurer negotiationsDemonstrated ability to review and interpret:Loss history reportsRisk assessment reportsSurvey and engineering recommendationsStrong negotiation, influencing, and stakeholder management skills.Established relationships with UAE insurers and market participants.Professional insurance qualifications such as ACII, Cert CII, CPCU, or equivalent will be considered an advantage.Preferred ExperienceCandidates with exposure to Property, Engineering, Construction, Liability, Financial Lines, Energy, Infrastructure, Real Estate, Hospitality, Aviation, or other large commercial risks will be highly regarded.Key CompetenciesCommercial AcumenRelationship ManagementNegotiation & InfluencingAnalytical ThinkingRisk AssessmentProblem SolvingClient FocusCommunication & Presentation SkillsIf you are a commercially driven insurance professional with a strong network within the UAE market and a proven track record in placing and managing complex risks, we would welcome your application.
