The Project Commercial Manager is a key leadership position within the construction contracting company, responsible for overseeing the commercial aspects of high-end construction projects in the UAE. This role involves managing contracts, procurement, and financial control to ensure project profitability, legal compliance, and adherence to quality standards.Cultural Alignment with Company Values:Uphold and reinforce the company's core values in all aspects of team management and project execution.Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and excellence that aligns with the company's overall mission and objectives.Performance ManagementImplement performance management systems to set clear expectations, monitor progress, and provide constructive feedback to team members.Identify and address performance issues promptly, taking appropriate corrective actions when needed.People and Talent Management:Foster a collaborative and inclusive team culture, promoting open communication and teamwork.Establish and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring effective collaboration.Spearhead the recruitment process to attract top talent in alignment with the company's culture and project needs.Develop and implement robust onboarding programs to integrate new team members seamlessly.Facilitate continuous learning and development opportunities for team members to enhance their skills and knowledge.Contract ManagementDevelop and manage project contracts, ensuring legal compliance and minimizing commercial risks.Oversee the negotiation and execution of contracts with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.Procurement Management:Lead the procurement process for materials, services, and subcontractors, ensuring cost-effectiveness.Evaluate and select vendors, negotiating favorable terms and conditions.Claims and Dispute Resolution:Manage and resolve commercial disputes, claims, and variations.Collaborate with legal teams to mitigate legal risks and ensure contractual compliance.Continuous Improvement in Safety Practices:Encourage a culture of continuous improvement in safety practices, leveraging feedback and data to enhance existing safety protocols.Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to stay abreast of industry best practices in health and safety.Ensure adherence to health and safety regulations and standards relevant to the construction industry.Establish a robust reporting system for incidents, near misses, and other safety-related concerns.Primary Deliverables:Precise and On Time submission of any type of documents/reports/data.Complete tasks efficiently and stay within budget as part of your job responsibilitiesSecondary Deliverables:Provide input to other departments or parties as needed on time.

Duties and Responsibilities

Leading client engagement for a portfolio of projects.Overseeing both cost and contracts teams within a project.Oversee the development and implementation of commercial strategies for projects.Manage the entire project lifecycle from a commercial perspective, ensuring profitability.Review and validate subcontractor payment applications and invoices.Responsible for ensuring that any additional work/changes in scope are approved by clients.Collaborate with project managers, quantity surveyors, and other stakeholders to align commercial strategies.Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards, regulations, and contractual obligations.Ensures all deliverables comply with the project delivery systems.Directly liaising with the Client project team, reviewing contracts and commercial reports, and representing the clients in negotiation and dispute.Monitoring and improving team performance.Efficiently using resources within project budgets.Adhere to company policies, code of conduct, conflict of interest, standards, rules and regulations at all times.Always prioritize keeping employee information and sensitive data confidentialPrioritize and ensure full compliance with the Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental (QHSE) policies established by the company.Accurate and On Time submissions of balanced scorecards.Maintain supportive documentation to substantiate the actual performance for all Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) outlined in the Balanced Scorecard (BSC).Experience and Education:Bachelor’s degree in Business, Commerce, Construction Management, or a related field. Advanced degrees or professional certifications (e.g., MRICS, CIPS) are advantageous.Minimum of 10-15 years of progressive experience in commercial management within the construction industry.Proven track record of successfully managing commercial aspects of large-scale construction projects in the UAE.Experience in negotiating and managing contracts with subcontractors, suppliers, and clients.Skills:Proficient in contract management and procurement processes.Familiarity with construction contracts, including FIDIC, and legal implications.Advanced financial analysis and reporting skills.Strong negotiation and contract drafting skills.Proficiency in using commercial and project management software.Knowledge of local construction regulations and standards in the UAE.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Effective leadership and team management abilities.Decision-making under pressure and conflict resolution skills.Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
