Commercial Asset Management / Portfolio Analyst

Location: New York, NY Schedule: Hybrid – 3 days in office Salary: $110,000 + 15% bonus eligibilityMy client is seeking a Commercial Asset Management / Portfolio Analyst to join its Commercial Asset Management team.

Reporting to the Commercial Managing Director and working closely with Portfolio Managers and Asset Managers, this role will gain broad exposure to a diverse portfolio of commercial real estate assets, including office and industrial properties.This is a collaborative, analytical position supporting multiple portfolios and assets. The ideal candidate is highly detail-oriented, proactive, and comfortable working across financial analysis, reporting, leasing, operations, and client-facing materials.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare financial analysis and reporting, including quarterly client reports, year-end reviews, tactical plans, annual business plans, and hold/sell analyses.Analyze cash-on-cash yields, NOI yields, invested capital, and other portfolio and asset-level metrics.Support financial analysis related to leasing, construction, and property operations.Track and report on local market conditions, leasing activity, and portfolio performance.Monitor capital projects, including budgets, schedules, expenditures, and client presentation materials.Prepare presentations and agendas for monthly and quarterly client meetings.Partner with Portfolio Managers and Asset Managers on asset management plans, operating budgets, leasing and marketing strategies, and capital budgets.Conduct market analysis and support leasing strategies, including monitoring prospects, lease expirations, renewals, and market competition.Participate in leasing and operations meetings and review lease proposals with third-party leasing teams.Coordinate with legal teams on lease drafting, service agreements, and other property-related documentation.Prepare net effective rent calculations and assess their impact on budgets and valuations.Provide operational and analytical support, including lease abstracting and auditing, CAM charges and reconciliations, and ad hoc portfolio analysis.

Qualifications

2–3 years of experience in commercial real estate investment/development, investment banking, or finance.Fundamental understanding of commercial real estate transactions and asset management.Exceptional Microsoft Excel skills, including the ability to build detailed financial models from scratch, an Excel assessment will be part of the interview process.Experience with Argus is required.Working knowledge of Yardi preferred.Strong analytical, organizational, writing, and communication skills.Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.Bachelor’s degree required; degree in Finance, Real Estate, or a related field preferred.Collaborative, proactive approach with a willingness to learn, take initiative, and grow within the team.
