Commercial Vinyl Floor Fitter

About the role:We are looking for Commercial Vinyl Floor Fitters to work for a well known flooring and tiling company in Ireland, installing high-quality vinyl flooring in commercial buildings, ensuring all work is completed safely, accurately, and to a high professional standard. Projects may include hospitals, schools, offices, retail units, hotels, healthcare facilities, and public buildings.

Key Responsibilities

Measure and prepare floor areas for installation.Remove existing floor coverings where required.Prepare subfloors by cleaning, grinding, repairing, and applying moisture membranes and smoothing compounds.Install a range of commercial flooring products including:Sheet vinylSheet LinoleumLuxury Vinyl Tile (LVT)Safety flooringHomogeneous and heterogeneous vinylCoved skirting and welded jointsCarpet tilesCut, fit, and weld flooring to precise specifications.Read and interpret drawings and floor plans.Ensure installations meet manufacturer specifications and industry standards.Maintain a clean, safe, and organised work area.Liaise professionally with site managers, contractors, and clients.Complete work within agreed schedules while maintaining quality standards.Skills and Experience:Experience fitting commercial vinyl flooring.Strong knowledge of subfloor preparation techniques.Competent in hot welding and coving.Ability to read drawings and work independently.Excellent attention to detail.Good communication and teamwork skills.Full driving licenceManual handling and Safe Pass (or equivalent site safety certification) desirable.Personal Qualities:Reliable and punctual.Strong work ethic.Safety conscious.Professional appearance and attitude.Problem-solving ability.Flexible and willing to travel to sites when required.Physical RequirementsAble to lift and carry flooring materials.Comfortable kneeling, bending, and standing for extended periods.Capable of working on active construction sites.
