🗂 We’re Hiring: Commodity Manager Indirect🕒 Employment Type: Full-Time💼 Level: Mid-Level to Senior🏭 Function: Procurement & Supply ChainWe are seeking an experienced, strategic, and commercially focused Commodity Manager Indirect to lead sourcing strategies, supplier management, cost optimization, contract negotiations, and procurement activities across assigned indirect-spend categories. This role will work closely with Operations, Engineering, Finance, HR, IT, Facilities, and other stakeholders to maximize procurement value while maintaining quality, service, compliance, and supply continuity. (Flextronics Careers)🎯 Key Responsibilities• Develop and execute strategic sourcing and commodity strategies for assigned indirect-spend categories.• Manage categories such as MRO, facilities, professional services, IT services, CapEx support, logistics, and other indirect goods and services depending on business requirements.• Analyze spend, supplier markets, pricing structures, demand patterns, and procurement data to identify savings opportunities.• Develop category roadmaps and sourcing plans aligned with business objectives.• Lead RFIs, RFQs, RFPs, tenders, supplier evaluations, and competitive bidding processes.• Identify, evaluate, select, and onboard strategic suppliers.• Lead commercial and contractual negotiations to achieve optimal cost, quality, service, delivery, and risk outcomes.• Negotiate pricing, payment terms, service levels, warranties, contract terms, and other commercial conditions.• Manage strategic supplier relationships and establish long-term partnership strategies.• Monitor supplier performance across quality, cost, delivery, service, compliance, and responsiveness.• Establish supplier KPIs, scorecards, quarterly business reviews, and performance-improvement plans.• Lead supplier escalations, commercial disputes, supply disruptions, and crisis-resolution activities.• Drive supplier consolidation, demand pooling, standardization, and specification optimization initiatives.• Identify and implement cost-reduction, cost-avoidance, and value-engineering opportunities.• Track and report savings, procurement KPIs, spend performance, supplier metrics, and sourcing results.• Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies, approval procedures, purchasing controls, and governance requirements.• Lead contract-management activities and ensure agreements remain commercially competitive and compliant.• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand business requirements and develop appropriate sourcing solutions.• Partner with Finance, Operations, Engineering, HR, IT, EHS, Legal, and other functions on procurement initiatives.• Support Source-to-Contract (S2C) and Procure-to-Pay (P2P) processes where required.• Monitor market trends, inflation, supplier capacity, commodity movements, and emerging supply risks.• Develop risk-mitigation and supply-continuity strategies for critical indirect categories.• Identify opportunities for procurement digitalization, automation, process standardization, and data improvement.• Maintain accurate sourcing records, contracts, supplier databases, spend analyses, and procurement documentation.• Lead or participate in regional and global procurement projects and strategic initiatives.• Provide procurement expertise and commercial recommendations to senior management and business stakeholders.The responsibilities reflect current Malaysia indirect-commodity roles, including spend leverage, strategic cost-saving projects, demand pooling, supplier management, contract management, reporting, and procurement governance. (career.ats.net)✅ Requirements• Proven experience in Strategic Procurement, Commodity Management, Indirect Procurement, Strategic Sourcing, Category Management, or Supply Chain Management.• Typically 5+ years of relevant procurement or commodity-management experience, with stronger experience preferred for senior or regional roles. (LinkedIn)• Strong experience managing indirect procurement categories and strategic supplier portfolios.• Proven track record in cost reduction, strategic sourcing, supplier negotiations, and commercial optimization.• Strong knowledge of procurement processes, category management, sourcing methodologies, and supplier relationship management.• Strong spend-analysis and data-analysis capabilities.• Excellent negotiation, influencing, communication, and stakeholder-management skills.• Ability to build effective relationships with suppliers and internal business stakeholders.• Strong understanding of contract management, commercial terms, procurement governance, and risk management.• Experience managing supplier KPIs, scorecards, business reviews, and performance-improvement initiatives.• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.• Ability to manage multiple sourcing projects and priorities simultaneously.• Experience working in manufacturing, electronics, semiconductor, EMS, industrial, technology, or other complex supply-chain environments is an advantage.• Multi-site, regional, or global procurement experience is highly advantageous.
