The organization values long-term partnerships, market responsiveness, and sustainable practices in the handling and trading of scrap metals and related commodities.Role Description This is a full-time, Commodity Trader (Scrap Metals/Agri/Biofuels) role based in Singapore (potential for remote work). The Commodity Trader will manage daily trading activities for ferrous and non-ferrous scrap metals, including pricing, negotiation, and execution of purchase and sales contracts. Responsibilities include monitoring global commodity markets, identifying trading opportunities, and managing risk exposure while maintaining profitable positions. The role involves building and maintaining relationships with suppliers, buyers, and logistics partners, coordinating shipments, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and company policies. The trader will collaborate closely with finance and operations teams to optimize margins, forecast demand, and support strategic business growth.QualificationsStrong trading and commodity markets skills, with experience in metals or related sectors.*** Having a strong, existing book of business requirement***Sound understanding of finance and hedging to manage price risk and optimize trading strategies.Proven sales and negotiation skills to develop and maintain supplier and customer relationships.Analytical and quantitative abilities to interpret market data, pricing trends, and contract terms.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with fluency in English; additional languages are an advantage.Ability to work on-site in Singapore is preferred, but not a hard requirement, travel as needed, and operate effectively in fast-paced, international environments.Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field; relevant industry certifications are a plus.Prior experience in scrap metal trading, commodities, or industrial raw materials is a requirement.
