You should be the person your friends ask where to eat in Riyadh.The Society by Women of MENA is a private membership community bringing together accomplished women through intimate gatherings, thoughtful introductions and a trusted professional and social network.Our first Founding Class is being built in Riyadh.We are looking for a Riyadh-based Community & Events Host to take ownership of our local Society Tables, from choosing the right restaurant to welcoming the final guest.This is not a traditional event-management role.We are looking for someone with excellent taste, strong local knowledge, confidence dealing with restaurants and vendors, and the social intelligence to make a room of accomplished women feel natural, warm and thoughtfully curated.What you will ownVenue selection and arrangements* Identify and recommend suitable Riyadh restaurants* Stay current on new restaurant openings, private dining options and interesting venues* Contact restaurants directly* Confirm menus, pricing, minimum spends and table arrangements* Negotiate where appropriate* Confirm final reservations, headcounts and timing* Communicate dietary requirements to the venue* Make sure the restaurant understands the expected standard of service and setupTable preparation* Review the attendee list before each Society Table* Help prepare the seating plan* Arrange and print Society place cards and simple table materials* Coordinate the photographer when required* Confirm final details before the event* Arrive early to ensure the table and venue are readyHosting the evening* Welcome members personally* Make thoughtful introductions* Briefly open the evening on behalf of The Society* Encourage natural conversation without making the dinner feel programmed* Notice when someone is being left out and help bring her into the room* Maintain the tone and standards of The Society throughout the evening* Handle small issues discreetly and calmlyAfter the Table* Confirm final expenses and receipts* Provide a short post-event note on what worked and what could improve* Highlight members who may benefit from being introduced to one another* Share useful feedback on the restaurant, service and overall member experienceWho we are looking forYou are likely someone who:* Lives in Riyadh and genuinely understands the city’s restaurant scene* Regularly discovers new restaurants and interesting venues* Understands the difference between impressive and simply expensive* Is warm, socially confident and comfortable around senior professional women* Can confidently call a restaurant manager, ask the right questions and negotiate* Is highly organized and reliable* Notices small details* Can manage multiple moving pieces without making the experience feel complicated* Is calm when plans change* Has strong written and spoken English* Arabic is highly valuableFormal events experience is helpful, but not required.Experience in hospitality, PR, luxury, communications, marketing, lifestyle, community building or related fields may be particularly relevant.We care more about judgment, taste, local knowledge and reliability than a traditional events CV.Commercial judgmentSociety Tables should feel exceptional without unnecessary event production.The Host will be expected to identify impressive venues, negotiate sensible group arrangements, and deliver a high-quality experience within agreed budgets.Role structureThis is a paid, flexible, event-based contract role.Compensation and approved event expenses will be discussed with shortlisted candidates.Activity is expected to increase as The Society’s Riyadh membership grows.About The SocietyThe Society is the private membership community by Women of MENA.Our first Founding Class is being built in Riyadh and is limited to 100 members.The Society is built around carefully selected women, thoughtful introductions and intimate Society Tables rather than traditional networking events.The women you should know.In the rooms you want to be in.Selection processShortlisted candidates will be asked to complete a brief practical exercise based on selecting and arranging a suitable Riyadh restaurant for a Society Table within a defined budget.
