WhatIf.ai is backed by the Loughborough University Startup Fund (LUinc), creating opportunities to help shape a new storytelling ecosystem.Role Description The Community Growth & Outreach Intern (Work Experience + Equity) will support day-to-day community-building efforts across anime, gaming, and fandom-focused channels in a remote internship role. Responsibilities include engaging with existing and potential community members on social platforms and forums, answering questions, gathering feedback, and helping maintain a welcoming environment. The intern will assist in outreach campaigns, including identifying and contacting relevant creators, moderators, and fan communities, and supporting collaborations or events. Daily tasks may involve responding to user messages, organizing community calls or virtual hangouts, drafting short updates or announcements, and helping track engagement metrics. This role offers hands-on experience in community development within a fast-moving startup environment, with potential for equity participation based on contribution and performance.Qualifications Candidates should possess strong interpersonal skills and a genuine interest in building relationships in online fandom spaces.Candidates should possess community engagement and community management skills for anime, gaming, and fan-focused environments.Candidates should possess clear and inclusive communication skills, including comfort interacting via text, voice, and video.Candidates should possess customer service skills, with the ability to respond to questions, feedback, and concerns in a respectful and timely manner.Familiarity with anime, gaming, and fandom culture, and active experience in online communities (Discord, Reddit, Twitter/X, etc.) is beneficial.Ability to work independently in a remote setting, manage time effectively, and collaborate across different time zones.Interest in startups, interactive storytelling, and AI tools is a plus; prior experience in community roles or fan-led projects is advantageous.No specific degree requirements; individuals from diverse educational and professional backgrounds are encouraged to apply.
