Senior Compiler EngineerLocation: New York City or ChicagoWe're working with a world-class quantitative technology firm looking for Compiler Engineers to build and optimise the compiler and runtime infrastructure behind large-scale, performance-critical C++ systems.You'll be responsible for improving compiler performance, runtime efficiency, and code generation while working closely with systems engineers on software where every optimisation has measurable impact.ResponsibilitiesDevelop compiler and toolchain enhancementsImprove optimisation passes and generated code qualityOptimise runtime performance on modern CPU architecturesWork with LLVM, Clang, GCC, or similar compiler technologiesAnalyse and resolve low-level performance bottlenecksRequirementsExpert-level C++ programming skillsExperience with LLVM, Clang, GCC, or compiler/toolchain developmentStrong understanding of compiler internals, runtime systems, and code generationExcellent knowledge of CPU architecture, memory hierarchy, and performance engineeringPassion for solving complex systems and optimisation problemsAcademic BackgroundCandidates should have an exceptional academic record in Computer Science, Mathematics, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related field.
