Compliance Manager

Compliance Manager | Houston, TX | Salary up to $100,000This role will be responsible for overseeing and maintaining regulatory compliance across the organization, ensuring import/export activities meet all applicable U.S. and international requirements.The candidate will have had hands-on freight forwarding experience combined with a strong understanding of customs, import/export regulations, and transportation compliance.What’s OfferedSalary up to $100,000 + benefitsOpportunity to join an established international freight forwarding organizationCareer growth and professional development opportunitiesCollaborative working environmentKey ResponsibilitiesManage and oversee the company’s import/export compliance programEnsure compliance with CBP, BIS, OFAC, TSA, and other applicable regulationsDevelop and maintain compliance policies, procedures, and internal controlsConduct compliance audits, reviews, and risk assessmentsMonitor import/export documentation and ensure regulatory requirements are metSupport classification, valuation, country of origin, and recordkeeping requirementsReview and advise on HTS classifications, ECCNs, licenses, and restricted partiesInvestigate compliance issues and coordinate corrective actionsKeep management and operational teams informed of regulatory changesProvide compliance guidance and training to employeesWork closely with operations, customs brokerage, sales, and management teamsMaintain accurate compliance records and prepare reports as requiredRequirements3+ years of compliance experience within freight forwarding, logistics, customs brokerage, or international tradeStrong freight forwarding experience is requiredSolid understanding of U.S. import/export regulations and customs requirementsKnowledge of CBP, BIS, OFAC, TSA, and EAR regulationsExperience conducting audits and managing compliance programsStrong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skillsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to work independently and manage multiple priorities
