Job BriefThe Trade Bank of Iraq (TBI) is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Compliance Officer to join the Compliance Department at its Saudi Arabia Branch, with responsibilities spanning regulatory compliance, AML/CFT and sanctions compliance, compliance monitoring and testing, and regulatory reporting.This role is essential to ensuring that the Branch operates in full alignment with Saudi Central Bank (SAMA) regulations, applicable laws, and internal policies and procedures. The Compliance Officer will support the tracking and implementation of new and updated regulatory requirements, assist in the preparation of regulatory returns and submissions, and work closely with business and support functions to embed a strong compliance culture across the Branch.The ideal candidate will demonstrate sound analytical judgment, strong written and verbal communication skills in both Arabic and English, high integrity and discretion, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, highly regulated banking environment.Key Responsibilities• Monitor regulatory developments issued by SAMA and other relevant authorities, assess their impact on the Branch, and support the timely implementation of new requirements.• Maintain the Branch's regulatory obligations register and follow up with the relevant departments on the status of implementation and closure of regulatory requirements.• Assist in the preparation, review, and timely submission of regulatory reports, returns, and correspondence to SAMA and other authorities.• Support the execution of the annual compliance monitoring and testing plan, document findings, and follow up on the remediation of identified gaps.• Support AML/CFT and sanctions compliance activities, including KYC and customer due diligence reviews, name screening alerts, transaction monitoring alerts, and escalation of suspicious activity in line with approved procedures.• Review and update compliance policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure continued alignment with regulatory requirements and Head Office standards.• Review new products, services, and third-party arrangements from a regulatory compliance perspective and provide written compliance opinions.• Assist in conducting compliance risk assessments and in maintaining the compliance risk register.• Support the delivery of compliance and AML awareness training and maintain related attendance and training records.• Coordinate with internal and external auditors, and with regulatory examination teams, by preparing and providing requested documentation and evidence.• Support the handling of customer complaints and ensure they are addressed within the timeframes set by the regulator.• Prepare periodic compliance reports, dashboards, and management information for the Head of Compliance, senior management, and Head Office.• Maintain accurate, complete, and confidential compliance records and documentation in line with the Bank's record-retention requirements.Applicant RequirementsEducation:• Bachelor's degree in Law, Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field from an accredited institution.Professional Certifications:• Professional certification such as CAMS, ICA, CCO or an equivalent compliance or AML qualification is preferred, or the willingness to obtain one.Experience:• Minimum of 2 years of experience in compliance, AML/CFT, regulatory reporting, internal audit, risk, or a similar role.• Experience within banking, a financial institution, or another regulated environment is preferred.• Familiarity with SAMA regulations and instructions, and with AML/CFT laws and implementing regulations in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, is an advantage.Skills:• Excellent command of Arabic and English (written and spoken).• Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret regulatory requirements and translate them into practical actions.• Strong report-writing and documentation skills.• High level of integrity, professionalism, discretion, and attention to detail.• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple deadlines.• Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills.• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).• Familiarity with AML screening and transaction monitoring systems is an advantage.
