The Compliance Officer will support the Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO) in ensuring the organization’s full compliance with Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Combating the Financing of Terrorism (CFT) regulations. This includes leading compliance efforts, conducting in-depth due diligence, managing risk assessments, and driving the implementation of AML/CFT policies and controls.Key ResponsibilitiesCompliance Operations:Conduct advanced investigations into flagged transactions or compliance breaches and recommend corrective actionsManage and update internal blacklists and ensure compliance systems are effective and up to dateCoordinate compliance-related responses to inquiries from regulatory authorities, such as the DFSA ,ADGM and MOEClient Facing:Collect, review and validate client identification and verification documents, ensuring full compliance with AML/CFT regulationsProvide guidance to departments on regulatory requirements, new products, and permissible activities to promote best practicesCommunicate updates, changes, and insights to MLRO and senior management, business development, and client facing teams to strengthen the organization’s compliance frameworkEngage directly with clients on complex compliance matters, explaining regulatory requirements and addressing escalationsSupport contract renewals by ensuring adherence to AML/CFT regulationsRegulatory Updates and Audits:Stay up to date with regulatory changes, ensuring the company’s policies and procedures align with current requirementsParticipate and provide training and timely updates to employees on AML/CFT regulations, policies, and proceduresCollaborate and communicate effectively to foster a culture of compliance throughout the organization and participate in blogs , seminars and other relevant activitiesMonitor regulatory changes and support policy updates in coordination with the MLROAssist in internal and external compliance audits, ensuring findings are addressed promptlyCollaboration and Communication:Coordinate with cross-functional teams to align compliance practices with business operationsAssist to prepare periodic reports to the MLRO and senior managementExperience and educationBachelor’s degree in finance, law, business, or a related fieldCertifications such as Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS) or International Compliance Association (ICA) preferred3+ years’ experience as a compliance officer within the corporate services/ financial industry preferably within a DFSA/ADGM -regulated environment
