The foundations are already in place, and your role will focus on strengthening and scaling them to meet the demands of our business as it grows.What you’ll get to doAct as the designated Compliance Officer, owning Hubpay’s compliance arrangements and their effectiveness across both business and retail productsOwn the relationship with ADGM and the FSRA, including regulatory reporting, notifications and other ongoing regulatory engagementOwn the compliance risk assessment, keeping it current as the business, products and regulatory perimeter change, and using it to drive compliance prioritiesDesign and run a risk-based compliance monitoring programme, driven by the compliance risk assessment, taking findings through to verified closureMaintain the company policy suite and a regulatory change process that assesses every applicable change before it takes effectMaintain oversight of all regulatory returns, including the financial and AML returns owned by other function holders, for completeness and timelinessOwn conduct of business and customer outcomes, including complaints handling and the analysis of systemic issuesOwn and maintain the Compliance Breach Register and ensure issues are appropriately tracked to remediationMaintain compliance oversight of the firm’s outsourcing, technology and cyber and other risk obligationsWork alongside the Money Laundering Reporting Officer, who separately owns the AML/CFT programme, under a documented division of responsibilitiesEmbed compliance into the product development lifecycle by working closely with product, engineering, operations, and commercial teamsLead regulatory audits, prepare for inspections, and ensure readiness across all internal teamsDeliver effective compliance training and promote a strong, risk-based culture across the organisationReport to the Vice President, Risk and contribute to business strategy by aligning regulatory integrity with scalable operational practicesWhat we’re looking forA compliance leader with at least 5 years’ experience in a regulatory compliance function at a regulated financial services firmA background in regulatory compliance (conduct, monitoring, regulatory change and regulator engagement), rather than one centered on AML or financial crimePrior designation as Compliance Officer, or as an Approved or Recognised Person, with a financial services regulatorStrong working knowledge of the UAE regulatory environment, with hands-on experience engaging with FSRA, DFSA or CBUAEProven ability to build and maintain a compliance risk assessment, and to design or improve compliance monitoring and conduct frameworks in high-growth companiesSufficient knowledge of applicable anti-money laundering requirements, as expected of the holder of the Compliance Officer functionSolid understanding of client money, cross-border payments and conduct risk in payments or fintechAbility to work cross-functionally and balance commercial goals with regulatory obligationsWhat we offerA competitive package comprising salary and equity in the form of ESOPA fast-paced environment where you'll be challenged to grow, learning directly from the founding teamA collaborative and supportive team culture where your ideas are valuedHave a direct impact on the direction the company takesJoin a Series A-funded startup backed by global venture capitalHubpay is an equal opportunity employer.
