Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Composite Technician role based in UAE. The Composite Technician will be responsible for preparing, constructing, and maintaining composite molds used in the production of Aerospace, and other advanced components. Day-to-day tasks include reading and interpreting technical drawings, preparing plug surfaces, applying release agents, laying up materials, and building molds using various composite processes. The role also involves trimming, finishing, and repairing molds, as well as ensuring dimensional accuracy and surface quality. The Composite Technician will collaborate closely with engineering, production, and quality teams to troubleshoot issues, optimize mold performance, and support continuous improvement in manufacturing methods. The individual will be expected to follow safety procedures, maintain a clean work environment, and contribute to efficient, high-quality production.QualificationsProficiency in composite mold fabrication, including plug preparation, lay-up, vacuum bagging, and curing of materials such as fiberglass, carbon fiber, and epoxy or polyester resins.Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, CAD models, templates, and work instructions to build molds to precise specifications.Skilled in hand and power tool use for trimming, sanding, drilling, and finishing molds, with strong attention to surface quality and dimensional accuracy.Knowledge of mold maintenance and repair techniques, including patching, re-surfacing, and applying release systems to extend mold life.Understanding of manufacturing safety standards, handling of chemicals and composite materials, and adherence to workplace health and safety procedures.Previous experience in marine, aerospace, automotive, or similar composite manufacturing environments is highly beneficial.Strong problem-solving skills, reliability, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.Relevant technical diploma, vocational training, or equivalent hands-on experience in composites, mold making, or related manufacturing trades.
