- Design, develop, and validate CFD simulation models for data center cooling, airflow management, and thermal optimization using Cadence Reality DC.
- Develop Digital Twin models to analyze and optimize the thermal and energy performance of data center infrastructure.
- Perform thermal and airflow analysis for IT equipment, power systems, and cooling infrastructure to improve reliability and efficiency.
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to develop new simulation capabilities and enhance existing product features.
- Research and implement advanced cooling technologies, including liquid cooling, rear-door heat exchangers, and immersion cooling.
- Develop automated workflows and best practices to improve simulation accuracy, productivity, and engineering efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Develop high-fidelity CFD models for data center airflow, cooling systems, and thermal management applications.
- Perform thermal analysis of data center infrastructure, including servers, racks, HVAC systems, and liquid cooling solutions.
- Build, calibrate, and validate Digital Twin models using engineering design and operational data.
- Analyze simulation results, identify thermal bottlenecks, and recommend design improvements.
- Collaborate with product development teams to define, develop, test, and validate new simulation capabilities.
- Prepare technical documentation, engineering reports, and simulation methodologies.Key Skills:
- Strong fundamentals in Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), heat transfer, thermodynamics, and fluid mechanics.
- Experience in data center cooling, HVAC systems, airflow management, and liquid cooling technologies.
- Experience in electronics cooling and thermal management of electronic equipment.
- Hands-on experience with one or more of the Datacenter Design Software such as Cadence Reality DC, CoolSim, FloVENT or TileFlow.
- Hands-on experience with one or more CFD simulation tools such as ANSYS Fluent, Cadence Celsius EC, Ansys Icepack, Star-CCM+, or OpenFOAM.
- Proficiency in Python or similar scripting languages for workflow automation and engineering analysis.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical communication skills.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Thermal Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Energy Engineering, or related discipline.
- 5–8 years of experience in CFD, thermal simulation, or product development.
- Experience in data center cooling, electronics cooling, HVAC, or thermal management applications.
- Good understanding of meshing techniques, turbulence models, numerical methods, and simulation validation.
- Experience with Linux and engineering automation tools is preferred.
- Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary product development environment.
