Configuration Manager
LODD Autonomous · Abu Dhabi Emirate, United Arab Emirates
Apply & track with Apply EdgeResponsibilities:Establish, maintain and enforce the controlled approved design baselines and effectivity rules for the UAS and key certification configurations (including prototypes and test specimens).Maintain baseline and effectivity registers and provide accurate configuration status accounting for internal readiness gates and authority submission packages.Maintain specimen / test-article conformity and configuration indices to ensure certification tests and compliance artefacts can be traced to the correct configuration.Ensure evidence-to-configuration coherence: each compliance document, test plan/report, analysis and submission index must reference the correct baseline and effectivity.Operate change control for certification impact by maintaining change/repair impact-to-compliance linkage (what changes, what requirements affected, what evidence must be updated).Implement and maintain the LODD DOH-required system for controlling and informing personnel of current changes in engineering drawings, specifications and design management procedures.Maintain the DOH-described record keeping system for type design and compliance documentation, ensuring that configuration references and histories remain auditable.Support conformity for certification inspections and tests by ensuring configuration identification, serialisation/effectivity, and documentation packages are correct and current.Exercise authority to place holds on evidence release when configuration/effectivity is ambiguous or when baselines are not properly controlled, and drive corrective actions.Ensure configuration-related record-keeping supports GCAA CAR 21 expectations for maintaining design information/data and Permit-to-Fly/Flight-Conditions supporting documents in an authority-accessible manner.Qualifications and Experience:Engineering degree (aerospace/mechanical/electrical/systems) or equivalent aviation technical qualification.Demonstrated experience in configuration management for complex aerospace/aviation products (preferably in a certification, flight test, or regulated engineering environment).Strong working knowledge of baseline/effectivity control, configuration identification and status accounting methods and tools (e.g., Siemens Teamcenter, Siemens Polarion, Microsoft SharePoint, Gitlab).Proven ability to maintain test article configuration indices and enforce configuration discipline for test readiness and certification evidence integrity.Experience implementing change control communication practices (ensuring teams are informed of drawing/specification/procedure changes in a controlled way).Understanding of how configuration interacts with airworthiness compliance evidence, including traceability expectations between configuration baselines and compliance documents.Strong documentation and record-keeping discipline; able to produce audit-ready configuration registers, effectivity statements and controlled histories.Ability to challenge stakeholders and stop/hold releases when configuration integrity is at risk, while driving timely resolution.Strong cross-functional coordination skills with engineering, airworthiness/compliance, flight test, and external partners/suppliers.Desirable: exposure to GCAA CAR 21 or EASA Part 21 design organisation practices and record-keeping expectations (including maintaining design information/data and, where applicable, PtF/Flight-Conditions supporting documentation).
