& AccountsReports To: ManagementAbout the RoleWe are looking for an experienced General Accountant to take full responsibility for the company's accounting and financial operations.The ideal candidate must have strong hands-on experience in the construction industry, with a solid understanding of accounting for multiple construction projects, including villas, residential buildings, apartments, and other developments.As the sole accountant, you will be responsible for managing the company's complete accounting cycle independently, including project accounting, contractors and subcontractors, suppliers, banks, payroll, VAT, cash flow, financial reporting, and day-to-day financial controls.This is a hands-on position that requires someone who can work independently, take ownership of the accounts, and provide management with accurate and timely financial information.Key ResponsibilitiesFull Accounting OperationsManage the complete accounting cycle and maintain accurate books and financial recordsHandle general ledger, journal entries, accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, accruals, prepayments, and closing activitiesPrepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reportsMaintain proper accounting documentation and financial controlsMonitor company expenses and ensure proper approvals and supporting documentsConstruction & Project AccountingManage accounting for multiple construction projects simultaneouslyTrack project costs, expenses, budgets, commitments, and profitabilityMonitor material, labor, equipment, and other project-related costsPrepare project cost reports and compare actual costs against budgetsMonitor project cash flow and financial performanceReview and record contractor and subcontractor transactionsVerify subcontractor invoices, payment certificates, retention amounts, advances, and deductionsCoordinate with the project and site teams regarding project costs and financial mattersSupport management in identifying cost overruns and financial risksContractors, Subcontractors & SuppliersManage accounts payable and supplier accountsReview invoices, purchase orders, delivery documents, and supporting documentationAssist with VAT return preparation and submissionEnsure transactions are properly recorded in accordance with UAE tax requirementsCoordinate with external auditors, tax consultants, and budgeting, forecasting, and cost controlHighlight financial discrepancies, risks, and unusual transactionsProvide financial information required for business and project decisionsWhat We Are Looking ForWe are looking for someone who is not just a bookkeeper or an accountant focused on daily transactions.The ideal candidate should be able to take ownership of the company's entire finance and accounting function, understand how construction projects operate financially, control project costs, manage contractors and subcontractors, handle banking and payroll, prepare management reports, and give management a clear picture of the company's financial position and each project's performance.Construction experience and the ability to independently manage the full accounting function are the two most important requirements.
