Construction Accounting Specialist

Our client is a rapidly growing construction and infrastructure organization seeking a Construction Accounting Specialist to support large-scale capital projects and field operations. This position will play a critical role in managing the financial processes that support active construction projects, ensuring accurate project cost tracking, timely vendor payments, contract compliance, and reliable financial reporting. The ideal candidate will bring hands-on experience in construction accounting and thrive in an environment where projects are growing and evolving rapidly.Reporting to finance leadership, the Construction Accounting Specialist will serve as a key partner to operations and project teams throughout the project lifecycle. This individual will oversee project-based accounts payable and receivable activities, monitor construction budgets and commitments, support lender and customer reporting requirements, and help implement scalable accounting processes and systems. This is an excellent opportunity for someone seeking broad exposure to project accounting, capital projects, and financial operations within a high-growth organization.Key ResponsibilitiesManage construction accounts payable processes, including contractor pay applications, retainage administration, lien waiver tracking, certificate-of-insurance compliance, purchase orders, change orders, and vendor payments.Support project accounting and job cost functions by tracking project budgets, commitments, incurred costs, cost code allocations, and construction-in-progress activity while identifying and communicating budget variances.Administer accounts receivable activities, including customer invoicing, collections, payment application, aging analysis, draw requests, reimbursement billing, and supporting documentation for customers and lenders.Assist with ERP system enhancements, process automation initiatives, and implementation of best practices across accounts payable, accounts receivable, procurement, project accounting, and financial controls.This is a great opportunity to join a dynamic organization and make a meaningful impact.
