The successful candidate will provide expert anesthesia services for a wide range of surgical, diagnostic, and therapeutic procedures while ensuring the highest standards of patient safety and clinical excellence. The Consultant will collaborate closely with surgeons, intensivists, and multidisciplinary teams to deliver comprehensive perioperative care.Key Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive pre-anesthetic assessments, including patient evaluation, risk stratification, and anesthesia planningAdminister general, regional, local, and monitored anesthesia care (MAC) for elective and emergency surgical proceduresMonitor patients throughout the perioperative period and manage anesthesia-related complications promptly and effectivelyProvide postoperative pain management and participate in acute and chronic pain management programsDeliver anesthesia services for operating rooms, day surgery units, labor and delivery, endoscopy suites, interventional radiology, and other procedural areasManage airway emergencies and provide advanced life support when requiredCollaborate with surgeons, intensivists, emergency physicians, nurses, and allied healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomesParticipate in multidisciplinary case discussions, morbidity and mortality meetings, and clinical governance activitiesSupervise and mentor specialist physicians, residents, and anesthesia staff where applicableMaintain accurate and timely documentation using electronic medical records (EMR)Participate in quality improvement initiatives, clinical audits, research, and Continuing Medical Education (CME) activitiesEnsure compliance with the Department of Health (DOH) Abu Dhabi regulations, hospital policies, infection control protocols, and international patient safety standardsRequirementsQualifications MBBS or equivalent medical degree from a recognized institutionDoctor of Medicine (MD), Board Certification, CCT, CCST, Arab Board, American Board, Canadian Board, FRCA, FANZCA, or an equivalent internationally recognized qualification in AnesthesiologyFellowship training in a subspecialty such as Cardiac, Pediatric, Neuro, Obstetric, Critical Care, or Pain Medicine is an advantageValid DOH Abu Dhabi License or DOH Eligibility Letter as a Consultant AnesthesiologistMinimum 5-8 years of post-specialization experience at the consultant level is preferredStrong expertise in perioperative medicine, airway management, regional anesthesia, and critical care principlesExcellent clinical judgment, communication, leadership, and decision-making skillsProficiency in electronic medical records (EMR) systemsFluency in English is mandatory; Arabic language skills are an advantageBenefitsCompetitive tax-free salaryComprehensive health insuranceAnnual paid leaveAnnual air ticket allowance as per company policyEnd-of-service benefits in accordance with UAE Labour LawContinuing Medical Education (CME) supportProfessional indemnity insuranceState-of-the-art operating theatres and advanced medical facilitiesCollaborative multidisciplinary work environmentOpportunities for research, teaching, and professional career advancement
