The Psychiatry Department provides care for adults, children, and adolescents, supported by specialized clinics such as Women’s Mental Health, Eating Disorders, Mood Disorders, Disability Determination/Fit to Work, Aviation Psychiatry, and Addiction Psychiatry. The Neurology Department offers adult and pediatric services, with dedicated clinics for Multiple Sclerosis, Headache, and Sleep Disorders. The Psychology Department delivers child services ranging from psychometric assessment of learning difficulties and developmental delay to therapeutic interventions, and adult services that cover counseling for personal and emotional concerns as well as complex mental health conditions. ACPN emphasizes multidisciplinary collaboration to ensure holistic, evidence-based care for diverse patient needs.Role Description The Consultant Child Psychiatrist will provide comprehensive psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, and treatment for children and adolescents in an on-site setting located in AD. This full-time role includes conducting detailed clinical evaluations, formulating individualized treatment plans, and offering psychopharmacological and psychotherapeutic interventions. The Consultant will collaborate closely with psychologists, neurologists, primary care providers, and other specialists to ensure integrated, family-centered care. Responsibilities include maintaining accurate and timely clinical documentation, participating in multidisciplinary case discussions, and contributing to specialized clinics as appropriate. The role also involves supporting health education initiatives, supervising junior clinical staff when needed, and engaging in quality improvement activities aligned with ACPN standards.Qualifications Advanced clinical expertise in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, including assessment, diagnosis, and management of a broad range of developmental, behavioral, and emotional disorders.Strong skills in evidence-based psychopharmacology and psychotherapeutic interventions for children and adolescents, with the ability to tailor treatments to individual and family needs.Experience working within multidisciplinary teams, collaborating effectively with psychology, neurology, and primary care to provide integrated mental health care.Excellent communication skills for engaging children, adolescents, and families, including the ability to provide psychoeducation and support in a culturally diverse environment.Proven ability to maintain thorough clinical documentation, adhere to ethical and regulatory standards, and contribute to clinical governance and quality improvement.Recognized medical degree, completed residency in Psychiatry, and formal fellowship or specialization in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry; eligibility for relevant professional licensure/registration in the UAE.Prior experience in hospital or specialized mental health settings, preferably within multidisciplinary or specialty clinic environments.Commitment to continuing professional development, openness to health education activities, and interest in teaching or supervising junior clinicians.Proficiency in English;
