The ideal candidate will have advanced expertise in managing critically ill patients, complex respiratory disorders, and intensive care procedures, with a strong commitment to clinical excellence, patient safety, and multidisciplinary care.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide comprehensive consultation, diagnosis, and management of patients with critical illnesses and pulmonary disordersManage critically ill patients in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), including those requiring advanced life-support interventionsDiagnose and treat respiratory conditions, including asthma, COPD, pneumonia, interstitial lung disease, bronchiectasis, and pulmonary infectionsManage patients with acute respiratory failure, ARDS, sepsis, septic shock, and multi-organ dysfunctionProvide advanced airway management, invasive and non-invasive mechanical ventilation, and respiratory supportPerform and supervise critical care procedures, including endotracheal intubation, central venous catheterization, arterial line placement, and other invasive interventionsConduct and interpret pulmonary diagnostic investigations, including pulmonary function tests (PFT), spirometry, bronchoscopy, and relevant thoracic imagingPerform diagnostic and therapeutic bronchoscopy where appropriately trained and authorizedEvaluate and manage sleep-related breathing disorders, including obstructive sleep apneaDiagnose and manage pleural diseases, pulmonary hypertension, and other complex respiratory conditionsProvide comprehensive care for patients requiring prolonged ventilation, ventilator weaning, and post-ICU respiratory rehabilitationManage hemodynamic instability, shock, and patients requiring vasopressor support and advanced monitoringDevelop individualized treatment plans based on clinical assessment, laboratory investigations, imaging, and diagnostic findingsLead emergency resuscitation, rapid response interventions, and critical care consultationsCollaborate with cardiologists, anesthesiologists, thoracic surgeons, infectious disease specialists, nephrologists, and other multidisciplinary teamsSupervise and mentor ICU physicians, respiratory therapists, nurses, and junior medical professionalsProvide patient and family education regarding diagnosis, treatment options, prognosis, and long-term respiratory careMaintain accurate clinical documentation and ensure compliance with clinical governance, infection control, and patient-safety standardsParticipate in clinical audits, quality improvement initiatives, teaching, research, and CME activitiesRequirementsQualificationsMBBS/MD or equivalent medical degreeRecognized postgraduate qualification in Pulmonology / Respiratory Medicine and Critical Care Medicine, or an equivalent recognized training pathway covering both specialtiesBoard certification or equivalent recognized consultant qualificationFellowship or advanced subspecialty training in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine is highly desirableMinimum 5-10 years of relevant post-specialization experience, with substantial experience in both Pulmonology and Critical Care MedicineStrong clinical experience in managing complex respiratory diseases and critically ill ICU patientsDemonstrated competence in mechanical ventilation, advanced airway management, bronchoscopy, and invasive ICU proceduresExperience in managing high-acuity ICU patients and complex pulmonary conditionsEligible for DHA Consultant classification/license in Dubai, with the appropriate specialty privileges for both Pulmonology and Critical Care Medicine, subject to regulatory assessmentExcellent clinical judgment, leadership, communication, and patient-management skillsBenefitsCompetitive salary and attractive benefits packageMedical insuranceAnnual paid leave and other benefits as per UAE Labour Law and facility policyProfessional development and CME opportunitiesModern, well-equipped ICU and pulmonary care facilitiesCollaborative multidisciplinary healthcare environmentLicensing assistance available for eligible candidates
