قدّم وتابع مع أبلاي إيدجThe Consultant General Dentist is responsible for providing comprehensive, patient-centered dental care, including the diagnosis, treatment, prevention, and management of oral diseases and conditions. The role requires delivering high-quality clinical services while adhering to the standards of the Dubai Health Authority (DHA), infection prevention protocols, and international best practices. The Consultant General Dentist collaborates with multidisciplinary healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes and a positive patient experience.Key ResponsibilitiesClinical ResponsibilitiesPerform comprehensive oral examinations and develop individualized treatment plans.Diagnose and treat dental diseases affecting teeth, gums, and supporting oral structures.Provide preventive dental care, including oral health education, scaling, polishing, fluoride applications, and sealants.Perform restorative procedures such as composite fillings, inlays, onlays, and crowns.Conduct routine and surgical tooth extractions within the scope of practice.Perform endodontic treatments (root canal therapy) for anterior and posterior teeth.Diagnose and manage periodontal conditions and provide non-surgical periodontal therapy.Replace missing teeth using fixed and removable prosthodontic solutions.Diagnose and manage dental emergencies, including trauma, pain, infections, and abscesses.Interpret dental radiographs and other diagnostic imaging.Identify oral lesions and refer patients to appropriate specialists when indicated.Manage pediatric and adult patients requiring comprehensive general dental care.Prescribe medications appropriately and safely in accordance with UAE regulations.Maintain accurate clinical records, treatment notes, informed consent documentation, and follow-up plans.Quality & Patient SafetyDeliver safe, evidence-based dental care in compliance with DHA regulations and clinical guidelines.Adhere to infection prevention and control standards, sterilization protocols, and radiation safety requirements.Participate in quality improvement initiatives, clinical audits, and patient safety programs.Report adverse events and contribute to risk management activities.Maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with UAE healthcare regulations.CollaborationWork closely with dental specialists, dental hygienists, dental assistants, nurses, and laboratory technicians.Coordinate referrals to orthodontists, oral surgeons, periodontists, prosthodontists, endodontists, and other specialists when required.Participate in multidisciplinary case discussions for complex dental cases.Administrative ResponsibilitiesEnsure accurate documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR).Maintain compliance with DHA licensing standards and organizational policies.Participate in departmental meetings, continuing education activities, and performance improvement initiatives.Support accreditation standards, including JCI or other applicable healthcare quality frameworks.QualificationsBachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS), Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS), or Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) from a recognized institution.Master's degree or equivalent postgraduate qualification in Dentistry is preferred.Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.ExperienceMinimum 5 years of post-qualification clinical experience, including experience in comprehensive general dentistry.Previous experience in a hospital or multidisciplinary dental center is preferred.Experience in cosmetic and restorative dentistry is advantageous.Knowledge & SkillsComprehensive knowledge of general dentistry procedures and evidence-based practices.Strong diagnostic, treatment planning, and clinical decision-making skills.Proficiency in digital dentistry, intraoral scanners, and dental imaging systems.Excellent communication and patient counseling abilities.Strong organizational and time management skills.Ability to manage patients of diverse cultural backgrounds.Commitment to continuous professional development and lifelong learning.CompetenciesPatient-focused approachClinical excellenceEthical and professional conductAttention to detailTeamwork and collaborationLeadership and mentoring abilitiesCritical thinking and problem-solvingEffective communicationAdaptability and resilienceCommitment to quality and patient safetyWorking ConditionsClinical setting within a hospital, medical center, or dental clinic.May require evening, weekend, or on-call duties based on operational requirements.Compliance with infection control, radiation safety, and occupational health policies is mandatory.Licensing RequirementsThe successful candidate must hold or be eligible to obtain:Compliance with all applicable UAE healthcare regulations and continuing professional development (CPD) requirements.Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)Patient satisfaction scoresClinical quality and treatment outcomesCompliance with DHA, infection control, and documentation standardsTreatment completion and follow-up ratesTimely and accurate EMR documentationParticipation in quality improvement and continuing education programsLow incidence of clinical complications and patient complaints
