We're Hiring | Consultant General Surgeon📍 Location: Dubai💼 Employment Type: Full-TimeWe are looking for an experienced Consultant General Surgeon to join a leading healthcare facility in Dubai. The ideal candidate will have advanced expertise in general, laparoscopic, and minimally invasive surgical procedures, with a strong commitment to clinical excellence, patient safety, and high-quality surgical outcomes.Key Responsibilities Provide comprehensive consultation, diagnosis, and surgical management of patients with general surgical conditionsPerform elective and emergency general surgical procedures within the scope of clinical expertiseDiagnose and manage conditions affecting the gastrointestinal tract, abdominal organs, abdominal wall, and soft tissuesPerform laparoscopic and open surgical procedures, including appendectomy, cholecystectomy, and hernia repairEvaluate and manage gallbladder disease, appendicitis, abdominal hernias, intestinal obstruction, and other abdominal surgical conditionsPerform appropriate gastrointestinal and colorectal surgical procedures where appropriately trainedManage soft-tissue masses, cysts, abscesses, and other minor surgical conditionsAssess and manage acute abdominal emergencies, surgical infections, and trauma-related conditionsProvide comprehensive pre-operative assessment, surgical planning, informed consent, and post-operative carePerform or supervise minimally invasive surgical interventions using modern surgical techniquesIdentify and manage post-operative complications, including bleeding, infection, and wound-healing problemsInterpret relevant investigations, including ultrasound, CT, MRI, endoscopic findings, and laboratory resultsCollaborate with gastroenterologists, anesthesiologists, radiologists, oncologists, intensivists, and other multidisciplinary specialistsSupervise and mentor junior surgeons, residents, and surgical team membersEducate patients and families regarding surgical procedures, treatment options, potential risks, recovery, and follow-up careMaintain accurate clinical documentation and ensure compliance with clinical governance, infection control, and patient-safety standardsParticipate in clinical audits, quality improvement initiatives, teaching, research, and CME activitiesRequirementsQualificationsMBBS/MD or equivalent medical degreeRecognized postgraduate qualification in General SurgeryBoard certification or equivalent recognized consultant qualificationFellowship or advanced subspecialty training in Laparoscopic / Minimally Invasive Surgery is highly desirableMinimum 5-10 years of post-specialization experience in General SurgeryStrong experience in elective and emergency general surgical proceduresDemonstrated competence in laparoscopic surgery, abdominal surgery, hernia repair, and gastrointestinal surgical proceduresExperience managing complex surgical cases and post-operative complicationsEligible for DHA Consultant classification/license in Dubai, subject to applicable qualification and experience requirementsExcellent surgical, clinical, leadership, communication, and patient-management skillsBenefitsCompetitive salary and attractive benefits packageMedical insuranceAnnual paid leave and other benefits as per UAE Labour Law and facility policyProfessional development and CME opportunitiesModern, well-equipped surgical facilities and advanced operating theatre infrastructureCollaborative multidisciplinary healthcare environmentLicensing assistance available for eligible candidates
