The Consultant Neonatologist will provide specialized care for newborns, including premature and critically ill infants, in neonatal intensive care and related settings. Daily responsibilities include clinical assessment, diagnosis, and management of neonatal conditions; coordination of multidisciplinary care; and oversight of junior medical staff and nursing teams. The role involves participation in ward rounds, procedures, developing care plans, and ensuring adherence to clinical guidelines and patient safety standards. The Consultant Neonatologist will also contribute to clinical governance, quality improvement initiatives, education of healthcare teams, and communication with families regarding treatment plans and outcomes.Qualifications Advanced clinical expertise in neonatology, including management of premature and critically ill infants, neonatal resuscitation, and intensive care procedures.Strong diagnostic, decision-making, and problem-solving skills in acute and complex neonatal cases.Proficiency in multidisciplinary collaboration, including working closely with pediatricians, obstetricians, nurses, and allied health professionals.Excellent communication skills for interacting with families, providing counseling, and documenting clinical care clearly and accurately.Commitment to evidence-based practice, clinical governance, quality improvement, and patient safety.Experience in teaching, mentoring, and supervising junior medical staff and trainees.Board certification or equivalent specialist qualification in Neonatology or Pediatrics with a recognized neonatology fellowship.Eligibility for licensure as a Consultant in Abu Dhabi (or ability to obtain relevant UAE medical license).Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a diverse, multicultural clinical environment.Participation in research, publications, or continuous professional development in neonatology is an advantage.
