About the CompanyStafmed is currently recruiting a highly experienced Consultant Paediatric Ophthalmologist for an exciting full-time position with a leading hospital in the UAE.About the RoleWe are seeking a distinguished Consultant Paediatric Ophthalmologist with extensive expertise in diagnosing and managing a wide range of ophthalmic conditions affecting infants, children, and adolescents. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive paediatric eye care services, utilizing advanced diagnostic techniques, evidence-based treatment approaches, and surgical expertise to deliver high-quality, patient-centred ophthalmology care.The successful candidate will join a progressive healthcare environment committed to clinical excellence, advanced paediatric ophthalmology services, and improving visual outcomes for children.ResponsibilitiesProvide comprehensive ophthalmic assessment, diagnosis, and management for paediatric patientsManage congenital, developmental, and acquired eye disorders in childrenDiagnose and treat conditions including strabismus, amblyopia, refractive errors, and ocular motility disordersPerform and oversee paediatric ophthalmic procedures and surgeries where applicableManage complex paediatric eye conditions requiring multidisciplinary careProvide early detection and intervention for visual development disordersDevelop individualized treatment plans based on clinical assessment and evidence-based guidelinesCollaborate with paediatricians, neurologists, geneticists, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomesParticipate in clinical governance, audits, and quality improvement initiativesSupport medical education, training, and departmental developmentQualificationsBoard certification in Paediatric Ophthalmology / Ophthalmology with recognised paediatric ophthalmology fellowship or equivalentRecognised Tier 1 qualification, including ABMS, Canadian Royal College certification, UK CCT/CCST, or an equivalent recognised qualificationMinimum 3–5 years of post-specialisation experience in Paediatric OphthalmologyEligibility for Consultant-level licensing with DHA, DOH, or MOHAPRequired SkillsExtensive experience in Paediatric OphthalmologyExpertise in diagnosing and managing childhood eye disordersAdvanced knowledge of strabismus management and paediatric eye surgeryExperience in managing congenital and developmental ophthalmic conditionsStrong clinical decision-making and surgical skillsExcellent communication skills with children, families, and multidisciplinary teamsCommitment to patient safety, clinical excellence, and continuous quality improvementAbility to work effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare environmentCompensationAn attractive tax-free package will be offered based on qualifications, clinical expertise, and professional experience.
