Apply & track with Apply EdgeJob Summary A leading private hospital in the UAE is seeking a Western-qualified Consultant in Pulmonary & Critical Care Medicine to provide advanced care for patients with complex respiratory conditions and life-threatening critical illnesses. The role combines specialist respiratory medicine with intensive care management, supporting high-quality outcomes through evidence-based treatment and multidisciplinary collaboration. Key Responsibilities Diagnose and manage acute and chronic respiratory conditions, including asthma, COPD, pneumonia, interstitial lung disease, and respiratory failure. Assess and treat critically ill patients requiring intensive care and advanced respiratory support. Manage mechanical ventilation, non-invasive ventilation, and complex airway conditions. Perform or supervise diagnostic procedures such as bronchoscopy and pleural procedures, where appropriately trained. Manage sepsis, shock, and other critical medical emergencies in collaboration with the ICU team. Develop individualized treatment plans and coordinate care with respiratory, emergency, and other specialist teams. Monitor patient progress, manage complications, and support safe discharge and follow-up planning. Maintain accurate clinical documentation and participate in clinical audits, quality improvement, and professional development. Medical degree with recognized postgraduate specialist training in Pulmonary/Respiratory Medicine and Critical Care Medicine. Consultant-level qualification such as UK CCT/CCST, American Board Certification in Pulmonary Disease and Critical Care Medicine, Canadian Royal College certification, Irish CSCST, or Australian/New Zealand specialist fellowship , or an equivalent recognized qualification. Extensive experience managing complex respiratory diseases and critically ill patients. Strong expertise in mechanical ventilation, respiratory failure, and intensive care management. Bronchoscopy and pleural-procedure experience is an advantage. Experience in a tertiary hospital or advanced ICU setting is preferred.
