Smita Memorial Hospital and Research Centre also supports ongoing clinical development and research-focused practices.Role Description The Consultant Radiologist will provide comprehensive diagnostic imaging services, including interpreting X-rays, CT scans, MRI, ultrasound, and other radiological investigations. Day-to-day responsibilities include reviewing imaging requests, performing and supervising imaging procedures, preparing detailed and accurate reports, and discussing findings with referring clinicians to support patient management. The role involves ensuring adherence to safety protocols, maintaining high standards of image quality, and contributing to departmental quality improvement activities. The Consultant Radiologist will also support junior staff training, participate in multidisciplinary meetings, and collaborate with other specialties to optimize patient outcomes. This is a full-time, on-site role based at Smita Memorial Hospital and Research Centre in Thodupuzha.Qualifications Recognized medical degree (MBBS) and postgraduate qualification in Radiology (MD/DNB or equivalent).Valid registration with the appropriate medical council and eligibility to practice as a Radiologist.Strong expertise in diagnostic radiology, including X-ray, CT, MRI, ultrasound, and emergency imaging.Ability to produce clear, concise radiology reports and communicate findings effectively with clinical teams.Knowledge of radiation safety standards and best practices for patient and staff protection.Experience with modern imaging equipment, PACS/RIS systems, and basic IT proficiency.Demonstrated commitment to ethical practice, patient-centered care, and multidisciplinary collaboration.Good teaching and mentoring skills to guide junior doctors, technicians, and trainees.Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to handle a high-volume clinical workload.Prior experience in a multi-speciality hospital setting is preferred; experience in research or academic activities is an added advantage.
