Apply & track with Apply EdgeA leading healthcare organization in Dubai, UAE is seeking an experienced Consultant Infectious Disease Physician to join its multidisciplinary medical team.The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of infectious diseases and will play an important role in delivering evidence-based care across outpatient and inpatient settings.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide specialist and consultant-level assessment and management of patients with infectious diseasesDiagnose and manage complex bacterial, viral, fungal, and parasitic infectionsEvaluate patients with acute, chronic, community-acquired, and healthcare-associated infectionsDevelop individualized treatment plans based on clinical assessment, investigations, and current evidenceProvide expertise in antimicrobial selection, optimization, and stewardshipManage complex infections including bloodstream infections, respiratory infections, urinary infections, bone and joint infections, and other systemic infectionsAssess patients with fever of unknown origin and complicated infectious syndromesSupport the management of immunocompromised patients with infectious complicationsProvide consultation for infection-related cases referred from emergency, ICU, surgery, oncology, and other departmentsInterpret microbiology, laboratory, imaging, and other diagnostic findings relevant to infectious disease managementWork closely with microbiology and laboratory teams on diagnostic and antimicrobial strategiesParticipate in infection prevention and control initiativesContribute to antimicrobial stewardship programs and appropriate antibiotic-use protocolsProvide guidance on isolation precautions and infection-control measures when requiredMaintain accurate and confidential patient recordsCommunicate diagnosis, treatment options, risks, and follow-up plans clearly to patients and familiesParticipate in multidisciplinary meetings, clinical audits, quality improvement, and patient-safety activitiesMaintain compliance with DHA regulations, clinical guidelines, and hospital policiesRequirementsMBBS, MD, or equivalent medical qualification from a recognized institutionRecognized postgraduate qualification in Internal Medicine and/or Infectious DiseasesRelevant post-specialization experience at Consultant levelDHA License or DHA Eligibility is preferredCandidates meeting DHA eligibility requirements may also be consideredStrong clinical judgment and diagnostic skillsDemonstrated experience managing complex infectious disease casesGood understanding of antimicrobial stewardship and infection prevention principlesExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to work effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare teamStrong command of English; Arabic language skills are an advantage
