Apply & track with Apply EdgeWe are seeking an experienced Consultant Spine Surgeon to join a leading hospital in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This opportunity is suited to a highly qualified surgeon with recognized specialist training in spine surgery, orthopedic surgery, or neurosurgery and extensive experience in the diagnosis and surgical management of spinal disorders. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive spine care, perform complex surgical procedures within their area of expertise, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality, evidence-based patient care. Key Responsibilities Assess, diagnose, and manage a wide range of spinal conditions, including degenerative spinal disorders, spinal deformities, disc herniation, spinal stenosis, and spinal injuries. Perform appropriate spinal surgical procedures based on clinical indications, specialist training, and established standards of care. Evaluate patients with acute and chronic back and neck pain and develop individualized treatment plans. Manage spinal trauma and complex cases in collaboration with relevant surgical and medical teams. Provide preoperative assessments, postoperative management, and long-term follow-up care. Consider and coordinate non-surgical treatment options, including rehabilitation and pain management, where appropriate. Interpret relevant diagnostic investigations, including X-rays, CT scans, and MRI studies. Work collaboratively with neurosurgeons, orthopedic surgeons, radiologists, physiotherapists, rehabilitation specialists, and other healthcare professionals. Maintain accurate clinical documentation and comply with hospital policies, patient safety requirements, and clinical governance standards. Participate in multidisciplinary case discussions, clinical audits, and continuous quality improvement initiatives. Qualifications and Requirements Recognized medical degree (MBBS, MBChB, or equivalent). Recognized postgraduate specialist qualification in Orthopedic Surgery or Neurosurgery, with appropriate training and expertise in spine surgery. American Board certification in the relevant specialty or another recognized Western specialist qualification, subject to Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCFHS) requirements. Substantial experience in spine surgery, including the assessment and management of complex spinal conditions. Proven experience performing spinal procedures appropriate to the candidate’s specialist training and clinical scope. Eligibility for professional classification and registration with SCFHS at the Consultant level. Valid professional registration and a certificate of good standing from the relevant licensing authority, where applicable. Strong clinical judgment, surgical decision-making, and multidisciplinary collaboration skills. Commitment to evidence-based practice, patient safety, and continuous professional development.
