Apply & track with Apply EdgeStafmed is currently recruiting a highly experienced Consultant Sports Medicine for an exciting full-time position with a leading hospital in the UAE.About the RoleWe are seeking a distinguished Consultant Sports Medicine with extensive experience in the prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation of sports-related injuries and musculoskeletal conditions. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive, evidence-based care to athletes and active individuals, with a strong focus on recovery, performance, and injury prevention.The successful candidate will join a progressive healthcare environment committed to clinical excellence, patient-centred care, multidisciplinary collaboration, and high standards of sports medicine practice.Responsibilities
- Assess, diagnose, and manage sports-related injuries and musculoskeletal conditions
- Develop individualized treatment and rehabilitation plans based on clinical assessment and patient goals
- Manage acute and chronic sports injuries, including muscle, tendon, ligament, and joint conditions
- Provide non-surgical management of sports and musculoskeletal injuries
- Perform appropriate diagnostic and therapeutic procedures within the scope of practice
- Support injury prevention, rehabilitation, and safe return-to-sport programs
- Assess patients' functional capacity and provide guidance on activity and exercise
- Collaborate closely with physiotherapists, orthopedic surgeons, radiologists, rehabilitation specialists, and other healthcare professionals
- Provide medical support and guidance for athletes and physically active individuals
- Participate in multidisciplinary meetings, clinical governance, audits, and quality improvement initiatives
- Contribute to the development of sports medicine protocols, rehabilitation pathways, and clinical standards
- Support medical education, training, and professional development within the departmentQualifications
- Board certification in Sports Medicine or equivalent recognised qualification
- Recognised Tier 1 qualification, including ABMS, Canadian Royal College certification, UK CCT/CCST, European Board, or equivalent recognised qualification
- Minimum 3–5 years of post-specialisation experience in Sports Medicine
- Eligibility for Consultant-level licensing with DHA, DOH, or MOHAPRequired Skills
- Extensive experience in the assessment and management of sports-related injuries
- Strong knowledge of musculoskeletal medicine, rehabilitation, and injury prevention
- Experience in non-operative management of sports injuries
- Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills
- Excellent communication and patient counselling skills
- Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary healthcare teams
