Consulting Metallurgist

RESPONSIBILITY AND AUTHORITY: a) Provide technical expertise and consulting to all areas in the organization regarding metallurgical issues. b) Research and consultancy relating to engineering and corrosion issues. c) Perform failure analysis to establish the root cause of equipment or machinery failures.d) Interpret and evaluate test results and prepare official reports for the customer.e) Timeliness and accuracy to meet turnaround time.f) Assist in fulfilling the requirements for the effective implementation of ISO9001:2015 & ISO/IEC 17025.g) Use the available resources in an effective and efficient manner.h) Maintain a fully functional metallurgical laboratory.i) Ensure Good Housekeeping and Good Laboratory Practice in the laboratory. QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE: a) Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor's Degree, Post Graduate Diploma, Professional Degree in Metallurgy, Materials Engineering, Material Science or equivalent.b) Preferably with a minimum of 3 years of working experience in the related field. c) Experienced and skilled in Failure Analysis techniques, including non-destructive testing, PMI, SEM fractography, EDX analysis, metallography, hardness testing, etc.d) Strong analytical skills – Able to interpret and summarise analysis data into test reports. e) Candidates should be prepared to work in the laboratory and at site. f) Good communication skills and close attention to detail.
