A little bit about you and the role...You already know what makes a video.....workYou're about 2-4 years into your career at this pointYou watch something on your feed and you can tell inside two seconds why it's going to do numbers. You know what UGC looks like when it's done properly, and you know exactly what it looks like when a brand is faking it. Which formats are peaking this month, and which ones quietly stopped working in June, is something you track without really trying. Nobody needs to send you a trends deck, because you're already on top of that. You'd be scripting and shooting across a fairly wide range. There's advertising. Video that runs as paid creative and has a job to do, judged on whether people stop and stay, and definitely also on what a lead ends up costing. There's us. A day in the life, what it's genuinely like to work here, the team in the office, someone talking through a deal that just closed. The content that makes a company feel like a place with people in it.And there's the longer stuff. Interviews, walkthroughs, podcast cuts, explainers. Some ideas need eight seconds and some need eight minutes. Sometimes you'll film people who are genuinely happy to be in front of a camera, and sometimes you'll film people who would much rather avoid that altogether. Getting something equally natural out of both sides of that spectrum is something you'd have to do. Most ideas go down a similar route: idea, script, shoot, edit, live. And you must at least be curious enough to understand the main + downstream impact of your content. You won't carry all of that alone. Editing will be supported by a freelance editor you brief and hold to a deadline. Scripting will also have broader marketing support when needed. Ideas are a group effort. A little bit about usEcomma is a private equity business that buys, operates and sells ecommerce businesses. We also end up operating the businesses we sell on behalf of the new owners(s) about 90% of the time. It's a fairly unique business model, which is exactly what keeps us excited to keep coming into work. We're also a company with a strong technology bent, having incorporated AI into a lot of existing processes and workflows, and we'd like to believe that we've done so without losing our human touch.
