The Contract Advisor provides professional contractual and commercial support in the development, administration, and management of contracts within the assigned organization. The role serves as the Contract Proponent representative and provides expert advice throughout the contract lifecycle, from development of requirements and scope of work through execution, administration, amendments, claims, renewals, and close-out.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide professional contractual and commercial advice to contract proponents throughout the contract lifecycle.Support the development of contract requirements, scopes of work, commercial terms, and contract documentation.Review and coordinate contracts and amendments through internal review, approval, and execution processes.Administer assigned contracts and monitor contractor performance, compliance, deliverables, milestones, and contractual obligations.Coordinate contract amendments, extensions, renewals, terminations, and other contract actions.Review proposals, bid responses, pricing structures, and contractual terms and provide recommendations.Participate in bid evaluations, bidder qualification, contract negotiations, and preparation of negotiation positions and counteroffers.Mandatory Technical RequirementsBachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Public Administration, Law, Finance, Supply Chain Management, MIS, or a related field.Minimum 12 years of relevant experience, preferably in the petroleum, oil & gas, energy, or related industry.Experience in contract administration, contract development, commercial management, procurement, or a related operational area.Minimum 3 years of progressively responsible experience involving contracting, accounting, auditing, commercial analysis, or related techniques and procedures.Strong knowledge of contract lifecycle management, including contract development, execution, administration, amendments, renewals, claims, and close-out.Knowledge of lump-sum, unit-price, and time-and-materials contracts.Knowledge of corporate contracting policies, procurement procedures, governance requirements, and internal controls.Demonstrated experience in contract performance monitoring, compliance tracking, change control, and contract administration.Experience in bid evaluation, commercial analysis, contractor negotiations, claims management, and contract amendments.Ability to prepare and review scopes of work, contract documentation, commercial analyses, reports, and management presentations.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, and familiarity with ERP/business systems used for contract administration and reporting.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to evaluate proposals, pricing, contractual risks, and commercial exposure.Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.Ability to communicate effectively with senior management, professional specialists, contractors, and cross-functional teams.Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple contracts and priorities simultaneously.
