The Contract & Commercial Manager will be responsible for managing all contractual and commercial aspects of large-scale construction projects delivered under a Project Management Consultancy (PMC) environment. The role ensures effective contract administration, cost control, claims management, procurement support, commercial risk mitigation, and compliance with project objectives while protecting the interests of the client.Mandatory Requirement: Candidates must have prior PMC (Project Management Consultancy) experience on large-scale building, hospitality, mixed-use, residential, commercial, healthcare, aviation, or infrastructure projects.Key ResponsibilitiesContract ManagementAdminister and manage construction contracts in accordance with project requirements.Interpret contract terms and provide contractual advice to project teams.Review contractor submissions for contractual compliance.Prepare contractual correspondence, notices, and recommendations.Ensure compliance with FIDIC and other internationally recognized forms of contract.Manage contract amendments, variations, extensions of time, and contractual obligations.Commercial ManagementOversee commercial administration throughout the project lifecycle.Monitor project costs, forecasts, and commercial performance.Review contractor payment applications and recommend certifications.Evaluate variations, claims, and change orders.Support budget control and cost optimization initiatives.Identify commercial risks and implement mitigation strategies.Claims & Dispute ResolutionAssess contractor claims for entitlement and valuation.Prepare commercial and contractual responses.Support negotiation and resolution of disputes.Maintain comprehensive records to support claims management.Coordinate with legal advisors when required.Procurement SupportAssist in preparation and review of tender documents.Participate in tender evaluations and commercial assessments.Review bid analyses and commercial recommendations.Support contract award and post-award administration.Cost & Financial ControlMonitor project budgets and expenditure.Prepare commercial reports and cost forecasts.Track commitments and project cash flow.Identify potential cost overruns and recommend corrective actions.Stakeholder CoordinationLiaise with clients, contractors, consultants, and internal teams.Provide contractual guidance to project managers and technical teams.Participate in commercial meetings and project reviews.Risk ManagementIdentify contractual and commercial risks.Develop mitigation strategies.Maintain commercial risk registers.Ensure contractual obligations are fulfilled by all parties.ReportingPrepare monthly commercial reports.Report on project financial status, claims, variations, and risks.Present commercial updates to senior management and clients.QualificationsBachelor's Degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Commercial Management, or a related discipline.Master's Degree is an advantage.MRICS, CIArb, CCP, or equivalent professional certification is preferred.ExperienceMinimum 12–15 years of total experience in commercial and contract management.Mandatory PMC (Project Management Consultancy) experience on major construction projects.Experience working with international engineering consultants is highly preferred.Strong background in high-value building or infrastructure developments.Middle East/GCC experience, preferably in KSA, is highly desirable.Technical SkillsStrong knowledge of FIDIC contracts.Expertise in contract administration and commercial management.Claims management and dispute resolution.Cost control and project financial management.Procurement and tender evaluation.Change management and variation assessment.Risk management.Excellent negotiation and stakeholder management skills.Proficiency in Microsoft Office; knowledge of commercial management software is an advantage.
