They have built a strong reputation for engineering excellence in one of the most demanding, performance critical corners of the technology industry.The RoleYou will join a highly technical engineering team building and optimising performance critical C++ systems that sit close to the core of live trading. The team is looking for engineers who understand how software behaves under real time pressure, and who can get underneath concurrency, networking and performance issues rather than work around them. You will work closely with experienced capital markets engineers, contribute to technical design decisions and take genuine ownership of the systems you build. This role suits someone who thrives in a hybrid, delivery focused environment and enjoys solving hard systems level problems.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop and optimise high performance C++ applications for live trading environmentsBuild components supporting real time market data and order flowDevelop and maintain trading and exchange connectivity infrastructureIdentify performance bottlenecks and drive down latency across the stackApply multithreading, concurrency and networking expertise to critical system pathsContribute to technical design and architecture decisionsTroubleshoot complex production and performance issuesMaintain high standards of testing, reliability and code qualityCollaborate closely with capital markets engineers across the businessWhat You'll NeedEssential:Strong commercial experience developing performance sensitive software in modern C++Excellent Linux knowledgeMultithreading and concurrency expertiseExperience building low latency or high throughput systemsStrong understanding of TCP/IP, UDP and network programmingExperience with profiling and performance optimisationStrong systems level engineering fundamentalsComfortable working independently in a hybrid, delivery focused environmentDesirable / Nice to Have:Experience within capital markets, electronic trading, FIX or market dataBackground in another performance critical environment such as telecoms, embedded/real time systems, gaming, aerospace or defenceWhy Apply?Competitive daily contract rate12 month initial contract with genuine scope to extendRemote working based in Illinois, USAWork on technology that sits directly within the live trading ecosystemCollaborate with experienced capital markets engineersHigh impact, real time production environment where engineering quality genuinely mattersExposure across market data, order entry and exchange connectivityNext StepsApply here, or reach out to Aaron Somers at Ocho for more information.
