As part of its continued growth and operational excellence agenda, the company is seeking an experienced procurement leader to strengthen its global supply capabilities and ensure sustainable, cost-efficient production. Your new role As the Assistant Vice President (AVP), Procurement, you will play a critical leadership role overseeing end-to-end direct procurement activities. You will be responsible for driving supplier strategy, ensuring production continuity, and optimising costs while maintaining quality and delivery standards.Key responsibilities include:Leading and managing direct procurement strategies across global supply networksBuilding and maintaining strong supplier relationships to support production throughput and scalabilityOverseeing strategic sourcing, negotiation, and contract management to deliver value and mitigate riskManaging production capacity planning with suppliers to align with business demand forecastsDriving cost optimisation initiatives, including should-cost modelling and continuous improvement programsPartnering cross-functionally with operations, manufacturing, and supply chain teams to ensure seamless executionLeading, mentoring, and developing procurement teams to achieve high performance and engagementWhat you'll need to succeed To be successful in this role, you will bring a strong blend of strategic thinking and operational execution:Proven experience in direct procurement within manufacturing environments (ideally global or regional scale)Strong track record in supplier management, sourcing, and complex negotiationsExperience in production capacity management and supply planningDemonstrated success in cost management and value engineering initiativesSolid exposure to contract management and risk mitigation strategiesExcellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence across functions and geographiesLeadership experience, with the ability to develop and inspire teamsDegree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business or related discipline (advanced qualifications are advantageous)What you need to do now If you're interested in this role, please reach out to me at darrell.eng@hays.com.sg with an updated resume for a confidential chat.Due to current hiring requirements, this role is open to Singaporeans and Singapore Permanent Residents only.
