Funnel Leasing Inc., is hiring for a Controller that can 'work from anywhere' in the U.S. The Controller is responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting, overseeing all accounting operations and tax compliance, while owning system improvements and process improvements. This person will provide strategic financial guidance to leadership, manage audits and acquisitions, and maintain strong internal controls and treasury functions. This role is a hybrid role. This person will likely be located in the Tampa Bay area and able and willing to commute to our HQ office in Odessa, Florida 1-2 days per week.The salary range for this role is $150,000 - $170,000 per year.Why Funnel?We are a 'work from anywhere' in the U.S. SaaS company that centers our services on the renter experience. We're in the process of transforming the real estate industry through cutting-edge technology built, sold, and supported by the most passionate people you'll meet.The Controller essential roles and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:Roles and responsibilities:Financial Reporting & Analysis:Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements (monthly, quarterly, annual) in accordance with GAAPAnalyze financial results, identify trends, and provide insights to SVP of FinancePrepare financial reports and presentations that will be shared with the executive team, board of directors, and investorsManage the annual audit process and be the key stakeholder for our external auditors, along with support from the team. Accounting Operations:Supervise and mentor the Accounting Manager and 1-2 other accounting staff membersOversee all accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, collections and M/Q/A accounting and reportingOversee and approve all payroll expenditures, the day to day of which is led by the Accounting ManagerEnsure the accuracy and integrity of all financial records and transactionsConstantly identify opportunities for automation and efficiency improvementsMaintain and review written accounting policies and proceduresOther Key Controllership Functions:Oversee the company's taxes, including sales and income taxes. Be the key stakeholder for our tax firm and the owner of Avalara for sales taxesImplement and maintain strong internal controls to safeguard company assetsManage the company's treasury function, ensuring a strong ROI on excess cash, adequate liquidity, and accurate cash projectionsStrategic Planning & Growth:Lead the integration of accounting teams, records and accounting software before, during and after acquisitions (max 1 per year)Participate in the development of the company's budgeting and long-term financial planningAssist the SVP of Finance in evaluating the financial impact of business decisions and provide recommendationsOther Duties:Finance systems ownership: design and implement systems that will scale with FunnelStay up-to-date on current accounting and financial reporting standardsPerform other duties as assigned by the SVP of FinanceTravel 0-10%Self-starter: when you see a problem, you don't think twice to solve itCreate a culture of continuous improvement and learning Foster collaboration within team and across the companyA preference to own projects rather than delegateCome to work without an ego: we are a small team and no task is beneath anyoneEducation, Work Experience, And CertificationsBachelor's degree requiredCPA license (active or inactive)7+ years of accounting experience, showing role progressionPublic accounting experience strongly preferredSaaS experience strongly preferredAdvanced spreadsheet user (both Excel and Google Sheets)Other preferred software experience: QBO, Chargebee, Chargebee RevRec, Teampay, Avalara, ZuoraThe optimal candidate will very likely be located in the Tampa Bay area, with the ability to commute to our office in Odessa 1-2 days per weekDon't meet every single requirement?
