Controller

Our retail related client is looking for a Controller who will manage the accounting department, set financial policies, ensure regulatory compliance as well as directly supervise bookkeeping staff, lead month-end closes, and partner with executive leadership on budget strategies.Revenue: 10-20M; This is Onsite in ElginResponsibilities:· Direct, mentor and evaluate the performance of bookkeepers and accounting clerks.· Prepare accurate, GAAP-compliant monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements.· Design, implement and monitor financial policies.· Lead the budgeting, forecasting and cash flow analysis processes.· Coordinate external audits and manage tax filings with local, state and federal agencies.· Create clear and concise financial metrics, KPIs and detail for individual departments and roles in support of the company’s strategies.· Maintain product costing structures and margin analysis that are accurate, understandable and actionable. Qualifications:· Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting or Finance.· 7+ years of progressive accounting experience· Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks Online and Excel.· Proficiency in data analysis and problem-solving skills and the ability to maintain accurate records are essential.· Good oral and written communication skills accompanied by good listening skillsSalary range: $120k-140k DOE, Education, Etc
