Controller — Gridless (Pennsauken, NJ)Full-time · On-site We're looking for our first dedicated finance leader — someone who wants to own the numbers, not just report them.Gridless is a rapidly growing battery technology company building next-generation, sustainable off-grid power solutions for organizations that need reliable energy where the grid can't reach — trusted by first responders, utilities, government, and the U.S. military for over a decade. We're expanding fast and building the financial foundation to scale — and we want an experienced Controller to lead it.What you'll ownThis is a hands-on, high-visibility role reporting to the company President. You'll take our books from good to great, give leadership a clear view of cash and performance, and build the processes that let us scale with confidence. Specifically, you'll:Own the monthly close and produce accurate, timely financials (U.S. GAAP)Strengthen and modernize our Accounting environmentOwn cash flow management, forecasting, and regular reporting to leadershipBuild financial processes and controls from the ground upPrepare investor and board updatesManage day-to-day accounting operations and mentor our full-time bookkeeperCoordinate with our outside tax firm and partner with leadership on operational finance decisionsWhat you'll bring5–10 years of progressive accounting experience, ideally as an Accounting Manager, Assistant Controller, or the #1 finance person at a small companyStrong U.S. GAAP and full-cycle close expertiseA track record of building financial processes and controls from scratchBachelor's in Accounting/Finance; CPA a plusWhy this roleYou'll have real ownership from day one and a clear path to grow into senior finance leadership as Gridless scales.
