Controls & Robotics EngineerCheltenham Area | £50,000 - £80,000 OTE | Permanent | Full TimeLooking for a role where no two projects are the same?An innovative automation engineering business is looking for an experienced Controls & Robotics Engineer to deliver bespoke automation, robotics and control system solutions for customers across the UK and internationally.Working on projects ranging from manufacturing and packaging machinery through to robotics, conveyor systems and vision inspection technology, this is an opportunity to take ownership of projects from concept through to commissioning whilst travelling to customer sites across Europe and North America.About the CompanyThis growing engineering business specialises in the design, build and installation of bespoke automation solutions for a range of manufacturing sectors. With increasing customer demand and a strong pipeline of projects, they continue to invest in both their people and engineering capability.The RoleDesign and program PLC, HMI, SCADA and industrial network systems from scratch.Develop and integrate robotic automation solutions, including industrial robots.Work closely with mechanical, electrical and controls engineers to develop complete automation solutions.Take ownership of projects from design and build through to commissioning and handover.Carry out installation, commissioning and customer training at customer sites.Fault-find, service and improve existing automation and robotic systems.Mentor and support other engineers within the team.Manage technical risks, customer communication and project priorities.Essential RequirementsProven experience in a Controls & Robotics Engineering role.Strong PLC programming experience using Siemens and/or Allen Bradley platforms.Experience programming HMIs, SCADA systems and industrial networks.Experience programming and integrating industrial robots.Strong fault-finding and commissioning experience within automated machinery environments.Experience working directly with customers and multidisciplinary engineering teams.Full UK Driving Licence.Willingness to travel regularly, including international travel.DesirableFANUC robotics experience.EPLAN experience.Machine vision systems knowledge.Automation project management experience.Packaging, plastics processing or material handling experience.Benefits & Development£50,000 - £80,000 OTE depending on experience.International travel, including Europe, USA and Canada.Daily allowances and high-quality accommodation whilst travelling.Additional pay for Saturday site work.Private healthcare for you and your family.Contributory pension scheme.Cycle to Work scheme.Long service holiday rewards.Excellent training, development and career progression opportunities.If you're looking to join a forward-thinking automation business where you can work on complex, bespoke engineering projects and see your solutions brought to life around the world, we'd love to hear from you.Apply today with your CV and a Hewett Recruitment Consultant will be in touch to discuss the opportunity in more detail.
