Controls EngineerLocation: GloucestershireUK & International TravelWe’re working with an established engineering business delivering bespoke machinery, automation and control systems across a range of manufacturing environments.We’re looking for an experienced Controls Engineer to join the team, with strong hands-on experience in PLC, HMI and SCADA programming and a background in developing control systems for automated machinery.What you’ll bring:Strong Allen-Bradley Studio 5000 experienceSiemens TIA Portal experience advantageousComplex PLC programming and software development from the ground upHMI and SCADA developmentIndustrial control systems and networksProven machinery / manufacturing controls experienceExperience designing and developing bespoke automation systemsStrong fault-finding and problem-solving skillsAbility to work independently and as part of a close-knit engineering teamWillingness to travel across the UK and internationallyUK right to work required. Visa sponsorship is not available.What you’ll be doing:Working across automation projects from initial controls design and programming through to installation, commissioning and customer handover.You’ll be involved in developing bespoke control systems, working closely with mechanical and electrical engineering teams, supporting panel build, commissioning systems on customer sites and taking ownership of projects through to completion.Experience with industrial robotics, FANUC, EPLAN, packaging systems, plastics processing machinery or bespoke machinery would be advantageous, particularly for someone looking to develop their robotics skillset.A practical technical assessment forms part of the recruitment process.
