Apply & track with Apply EdgeSecurity Manager, Austin OperationsPosition SummaryNXP is seeking an experienced and results-oriented Security Manager to lead security operations across four Austin-area locations, including the U.S. Corporate Headquarters, manufacturing facilities, and test laboratory environments. Reporting to the Americas Regional Security Manager, this position is responsible for protecting company personnel, intellectual property, assets, operations, and brand reputation while ensuring security programs support business objectives.The successful candidate will be a hands-on leader capable of operating strategically and tactically. This individual will be accountable for managing day-to-day security operations, leading security personnel and contract security providers, conducting risk assessments and investigations, managing crisis response efforts, and driving continuous improvement of the site security program.Success in this role will be measured through effective risk mitigation, operational readiness, incident reduction, investigation quality, regulatory compliance, team development, and stakeholder confidence.Key ResponsibilitiesSecurity Operations LeadershipProvide leadership and oversight for security operations across four Austin-area facilities.Lead, coach, and develop security personnel and contract security providers while fostering a culture of accountability, professionalism, and customer service.Establish performance expectations, conduct evaluations, and support employee development and succession planning.Ensure consistent implementation of corporate security policies, standards, and procedures.Risk Management & Security StrategyConduct site risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies to address identified vulnerabilities.Develop and execute annual site security plans aligned with corporate objectives and business needs.Identify emerging security threats and implement appropriate countermeasures to protect people, facilities, intellectual property, and critical assets.Partner with business leaders to balance security requirements with operational effectiveness.Physical Security & TechnologyOversee physical security systems, including:Access control systemsVideo management and CCTV systemsIntrusion detection systemsVisitor management platformsSecurity reporting and analytics toolsEvaluate and recommend security technology enhancements and capital improvement projects.Ensure proper maintenance, testing, and operational effectiveness of all site security systems.Investigations & Incident ManagementLead and manage investigations involving theft, workplace violence, misconduct, policy violations, fraud, security breaches, and other incidents.Conduct interviews, gather evidence, document findings, and prepare investigative reports and recommendations for leadership.Manage incident response activities and ensure timely reporting, corrective actions, and lessons learned reviews.Analyze security trends and implement proactive measures to reduce risk.Crisis Management & Business ContinuityLead site preparedness efforts related to emergency response, crisis management, disaster recovery, and business continuity.Serve as a key security advisor during crisis situations and critical incidents.Develop and conduct emergency drills, tabletop exercises, and training programs.Coordinate response efforts with Facilities, EHS, HR, Legal, Operations, and external first responders.Stakeholder Partnership & Executive SupportBuild strong partnerships with site leadership, manufacturing teams, engineering organizations, HR, Legal, Facilities, and other key stakeholders.Serve as a trusted advisor regarding security risks, mitigation strategies, and investment priorities.Present security metrics, trends, and recommendations to senior leadership.Support regional and global security initiatives as required.Financial & Project ManagementManage security budgets, forecasting, and resource planning.Lead security projects from planning through implementation while ensuring timely delivery and fiscal responsibility.Oversee vendor relationships, contracts, and service performance.Develop metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure program effectiveness and support continuous improvement.Qualifications RequiredBachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.Minimum six years of progressive experience in corporate security, industrial security, law enforcement, military service, or a related discipline.Demonstrated leadership experience managing security personnel, contractors, or cross-functional teams.Experience conducting investigations and managing security incidents.Working knowledge of risk assessment methodologies and security best practices.Experience with access control, video surveillance, alarm monitoring, and other physical security technologies.Strong project management, organizational, and planning skills.Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Teams.Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with the highest level of integrity and professionalism.PreferredExperience in manufacturing, semiconductor, logistics, critical infrastructure, aerospace, defense, or other highly regulated operational environments.Experience protecting intellectual property, managing insider threat risks, and securing critical assets.Experience with budget management, forecasting, and capital project execution.Experience supporting compliance programs such as ISO 15408/Common Criteria, C-TPAT, CFATS, SOX, or similar frameworks.Experience leading business continuity, emergency management, and crisis response programs.Preferred CertificationsOne or more of the following certifications is highly desirable:Certified Protection Professional (CPP)Physical Security Professional (PSP)Professional Certified Investigator
