The roleYou will join our Corporate and Commercial team, working alongside our Australian and Sri Lankan lawyers on commercial matters for Australian and international SME clients, with the opportunity to move into mid-market M&A work as you grow with the firm. Day-to-day, you will draft, review, negotiate and advise across the full spectrum of commercial law for SME clients, ranging from shareholder agreements and joint ventures to supply, distribution, IT and services agreements and everything in between.This is a hands-on drafting role for a lawyer with genuine depth of commercial experience. Over time, you will also help shape our templates and precedents and mentor junior team members. You will report to and be mentored by an experienced team leader with deep domestic and international corporate and commercial experience. What you will need5+ years in commercial law, M&A or a related field, with a track record of high-volume drafting (at Associate level)Proven experience drafting, reviewing and negotiating commercial documentsLLB or equivalent; admission to practice in your jurisdictionAdvanced drafting and analytical skills, and excellent written and spoken EnglishConfidence advising without heavy supervision, strong self-management, and a genuine client service focusLooking for a long-term, stable role, not a stepping stoneTeam player who can manage the challenges of remote work across different time zonesWorking ArrangementsFull-time (40 hours per week), remote, working approximately 8:30 am to 5:30 pm Sydney time, Monday to Friday.
