Cost Control & Analysis Manager

Protect transportation margin and strengthen decision-making through accurate job costing, billing readiness, forecasts, profitability analysis and actionable management insights. Lead controls, reconciliations, performance reporting and cost improvement. Partner with Operations, Commercial, Procurement and Finance; contract ownership and statutory accounting remain with the relevant functions.ResponsibilitiesValidate customer and supplier rates against approved contracts; flag deviations and margin risks.Own job-cost completeness by shipment, job and material, including accruals and cost allocation.Coordinate timely customer billing and supplier invoice capture; resolve workflow exceptions.Perform job-level ERP/TMS reconciliations and support accurate, timely month-end close.Build budgets, forecasts and scenarios; explain rate, volume, mix, productivity and operational variances.Analyze CM1, GP and OP performance by customer, lane, shipment, product and vendor.Produce dashboards, trend and root-cause analysis with clear insights and recommended actions.Lead profitability reviews, corrective actions, savings initiatives and benefit realization tracking.Manage billing and cost disputes; escalate items beyond delegated authority.Monitor unbilled revenue, open workflows and SO/PO gaps through closure.Design and test controls, maintain evidence and support audit, compliance and data-quality reviews.Qualifications & CompetenciesBachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Economics or a related fieldMore than 5 years of experienceRelevant cost control, FP&A or management-accounting experience in logistics or transportCMA, ACCA, CIMA or an analytics qualification preferredStrong transportation-cost, profitability and P&L acumenAdvanced Excel; ERP/TMS and Power BI capabilitySQL, data modeling and analytics capability preferredForecasting, scenario modeling and management-reporting skillsControls, data-quality, compliance and audit disciplineAnalytical storytelling, stakeholder influence and team leadership
