Apply & track with Apply EdgeROLE OVERVIEW The Costuming Technician is responsible for the overall care and maintenance of all costume, prop and puppet pieces that are utilized in the live entertainment program, as well as building the new show props & costume elements in-house where requested. This position works closely with the Senior Director of Costuming, Costuming Management, Seamstresses, Prosthetics, Hair & Makeup Artist, Costuming Attendants and other members of the Entertainment Department to ensure costumes are maintained at the highest possible quality level. This position works with the Miral Experiences team as an active participant in achieving artistic goals, ensuring consistent quality, sharing knowledge with the team, supporting production and execution of events and shows while maintaining a positive attitude in the workplace, guaranteeing high standards in the delivery of all offerings and preserving production and execution values across the properties.ROLE SCOPEDaily Operation Duties, Building & Repairing CostumesFabricates and repairs costumes, character/mascot and craft pieces, props & puppets including building, painting, airbrushing, gluing, fixing electrical systems and moreAlters and repairs existing costumes, props and any other costume or prop element with high attention to detail and skilled craftsmanship to ensure show/costume qualityHelps crew with daily laundry, including washing, hanging, ironing and steaming costume pieces as neededHelps Senior Director of Costuming in maintaining accurate and up to date costume inventoryKeeps track of supplies and places orders for replacement in a timely mannerMaintains communication throughout the Costuming DepartmentPerforms other duties as requested by senior managementOther DutiesAssists in a team leader capacity with other functions within entertainment when requiredAttends department meetings as requestedInterfaces with all colleagues and outside vendors in a professional and courteous mannerAssists with administrative tasks when neededHas the ability to carry and move relatively heavy itemsShares information and best practices with other colleaguesDevelops and helps maintain up to date documentationQUALIFICATIONSEssential:Higher secondary or equivalent educationMinimum of 2 years of artistic craft experiencePainting, drawing, gluing, sculpting, airbrushing, electrical systems knowledgeCarpentry knowledgeWorking with sewing machine and hand sewingExperience working with glues and solventsProficiency in EnglishPrevious experience working with performersComputer skills: Word, Excel, PowerPointAttention to detail and highly organizedDesirable:Associate degree or higher in theatre or fine arts5 years fine arts background3 years of experience within theme park, theatrical productions or cruise shipsCostume repair and manufacturing backgroundAdvanced level computer proficiencySpecialization in costume technology3D printing knowledge and experienceIndustrial and domestic sewing machines proficiencyExperienced working with character/mascot costume piecesTheme Park experiencePeople management skills
