The salon features vibrant, funky workstations and lifesize KidStation characters that create a fun, engaging experience. The space is designed so that children can safely explore and enjoy elements like bubblebath and bodywash on tap. KidStation focuses on making personal care enjoyable and stress-free for kids while maintaining a high standard of professional service. Team members work in a creative, child-centered setting that values comfort, safety, and enjoyment.Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Counselor role based at KidStation in Cairo. The Counselor will support children and their caregivers during salon visits, helping young clients feel comfortable, heard, and at ease in the playful environment. Daily tasks include welcoming families, observing children’s emotional needs, offering reassurance and guidance, and using age-appropriate communication to reduce anxiety or stress. The Counselor will collaborate with stylists and staff to ensure a safe, inclusive, and positive experience for all children, including those who may be nervous, have sensory sensitivities, or need extra support. The role also involves maintaining clear communication with caregivers, documenting observations when needed, and contributing to programs or activities that promote children’s emotional well-being and positive behavior in the salon.Qualifications Counseling and child development skills, with the ability to support children’s emotional and behavioral needs in a non-clinical setting.Strong communication and interpersonal skills for engaging children, caregivers, and team members in a clear, respectful, and empathetic manner.Experience working with children in educational, counseling, social work, or childcare environments, preferably in customer-facing roles.Ability to create a safe, inclusive, and supportive atmosphere for children of diverse backgrounds and abilities.Patience, adaptability, and problem-solving skills to manage challenging behaviors and unexpected situations calmly.Collaborative mindset and willingness to work closely with salon staff to coordinate care and service.Basic record-keeping and observation skills to note patterns in children’s responses and share relevant insights with the team.Relevant diploma or degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, Education, or a related field is preferred.Fluency in local language and good command of English are beneficial.Commitment to child safety, confidentiality, and adherence to ethical, non-discriminatory practices.
